    93,

In the handwriting of the Prophet, Qabalistic Key published in Book IV

I have confirmed with the Greek Qabalah the correct word is NOMOS and not NOMOC as would appear...

I am wondering if anyone has reference to how Nomos fits into the Thelemic canon. Aside from being a Thelemic key, it is the Greek name associated with Law, as described from this source below which is among the few I could find on the subject:

NOMOS (Nomos), a personification of law, described as the ruler of gods and men. (Pind. Fragm. 151, p. 640, ed. Böckh; Plat. Gorg. p. 484, b.; Orph. Hymn. 63.)

Source: Dictionary of Greek and Roman Biography and Mythology.

I have not encountered material where the Great Beast wrote of this except for the key He left.

    Thank you for any insight.

I have no reason to think he has any particular relationship to Thelema - other than in the sense that every god from every source is an available target of worship. Nomos would fit in at about the same level as an other minor Greek deity.

However, there IS one strong Greek presence identified with the principle of Law that is fairly tightly connected to Thelema. She is Themis, the Greek cognate of Maat.

Thanks for the correspondence Jim. This looks like a subject worthy of study.

I will update this and the original post as I am able to enrich with useful and clarifying content.

    From what I gather:
Nomos is a manifestation of ones personal codification of behavior or Law
Where Themis is the personification of Divine Law

A way I have been viewing it this morning is Nomos being akin to the name of ones HGA
Where Themis is Thelema, Divine Will - Hadit?

None of this is concrete, first time I am toying around with the ideas.

I do enjoy the Hymn 😄

Thank you Miss Dara 217. I noticed there is part of a Key here, related to the same verse in AL which contains the NOMOS key, no surprise there, but this helps advance the solution.

Glad you enjoyed the Hymn. I've been experimenting with the square and other formulas using the Hymn as a form of energized enthusiasm. I have gotten some good results using the square, the Hymn, and the Call of the Aethyrs with the Word provided. Makes the 4th of July fireworks look dull. I think there is a alot of wisdom in this area, and although not directly related to the Thelemic canon can be useful to Thelema. I've also considered the Godform that may be able to contain the force referenced, but have not attained it yet. Your assessment into frequencies is helpful.

Perhaps there is a relation to the Hymn to Pan.

If you're taking an interest in Greek words, you should be aware that what looks like a "C" is an alternate way of writing a Greek "Sigma".
