If one has taken initiations through one order, and then for whatever reason feels dissatisfied and feels the need to join another order.
Would retaking the same degrees of initiation again within the new order have any negative effect on the candidate?
Has anyone actualy been in this position, and what were the results?

It's likely that they're not really the same degrees.

For example, it would be rare that the two are using exactly the same ceremonies.

There is also the factor of where the particular work fits within the pattern of the Order as a whole. (Context matters.)

I'm not sure this addresses your question directly, but I'll add: I've started at the beginning in a new system a couple of times after I was fairly far along in other systems. Provided that one is sincerely willing to walk in as a beginner, I can't see that there is any conflict at all.

Thanks for taking the time to answer Jim.
The order was a breakaway from the OTO which now no longer exists,
I want to go with the Caliphate so im sure that the initiations would share similarities.
It feels right to me,but my concerns are with the oaths i took.
        Would I be breaking them.

There are subtleties that you need to sort through for yourself.

On the surface, I think you're just fine. If there are confidences in the other group, keep them. Other than that, anything I can think of is covered by the fact that they don't exist anymore.

Its greatest strength and weakness is the same:
You will have to retread the same ground with a different map
( I would think "same lesson, different experience" )
Which is great if you did not take entire care of the issues previously
That a possible sort of frustration "CRAP! HAVE TO DO THIS AGAIN?"
Or move from an Adept to Master of that degree

Then again, that is my general opinion on the whole matter to begin with
(When simply put in a "sound byte")

That is spot on as to how i am feeling.
Thank you for taking the time to respond.
I am much more comfortable with things now.
