Hello everyone! My name is Adam, I am from Saudi Arabia. I am currently studying materials science and engineering at the university of Tennessee, at Knoxville, USA with a minor in philosophy. I have been reading some of Crowley's writings since I stumbled upon a few websites quoting him so I read about him and became very interested in learning more about Thelema for I am very new to it, and this board seems to be a good source of information for that matter. I'm glad I found this forum and am so excited to start sailing in the sea of wisdom!

I just recieved a spectacular edition of the Qur'an in the most perplexing arabic I've ever gazed at. I am amazed (quite literally) at the kind of consciousness that could devise the language and am perplexed at the fact that it must be read from back to front, and either back to the start of the chapter and forward til one has to go back to the next chapter and forward again, or literally from left to right, and from down to up, and back from forward.

I have to quite plainly say, I'm scared silly as a cucumber in Abel's garden at the kind of mind that could devise such a mighty language.

I hope Christians share my abject terror at the nature of Islam on the terms of it's actual origins.

We are so spoiled in the western lands with our simple texts and lack of the full dimensions of the language itself. Should the Mahdi, or forgive me, Madhi, arise, even in my full thrall of hedonic indulgence, I will look upon him and repeat this, probably in tense paraphrase, as I am certain this consciousness if of Yacatismic birth.

Thanks a lot, Patrick. I will definitely dedicate much time to reading and educating myself as this is exactly why I am here!

Zazazas214, you seem to have a good background about Islam and the Quran and to have genuine interest in getting to know the teachings of the chapter inside out. I am surely more than glad to offer any sort of information to the best of my knowledge as you know the religion is quite complex and only the very few are considered know-it-alls..

    Oh boy!
I do not think we have ever had a member from Saudi Arabia before!

    Welcome!
I hope you find all that you seek 😄

    Who is your favorite philosopher?
In case you are unaware, it is quite easy to find copies of Crowleys work online to read and enjoy.
Certainly not a replacement for the books themselves, especially when considering, say Liber ABA in example.
    It is a start 😀
