There's info. on my profile so I won't be redundant on that. I got into Crowley in '96 through Robert Anton Wilson's books. I've read Confessions, Book IV, 8 Lectures on Yoga, The Temple of Solomon the King, The Book of the Law (I wrote a research paper on it and The Commentary for an Anthropology Course called "Magic, Witchcraft & Religion" I took as an undergread), The Book Of Lies, Diary of a Drug Fiend, some Crowley Magickal Diaries and several Libers and articles from The Equinox. I'm currently reading Kaczynski's Perdurabo and Magick Without Tears (along with the supplements AC recommends).
I've never officially practiced Thelemic Magick, but used to practice Pranayama per AC's advice and then switched over to Anapanasati (a form of Breathe Meditation taught by the Buddha) which Crowley tipped me off to in 8 Lectures. I also practice Sattiphattana, another Buddhist practice called "The Four Foundations Of Mindfulness" but more accurately called "The Four Frames of Reference" (Thanissaro Bhikkhu's translation; the four are: body, mind, feeling, dhammas.). I was glad when I recently re-read The Temple of Solomon the King to find Crowley talking about the usefulness of Satipatthana. Crowley would likely classify all these as samadhi techniques. I also have a bit of a Qigong practice.
I've not encountered another Buddhist willing to discuss with the relationship of Buddhims to Magick. Recently, I've been interested in combining my Buddhist practice with Magick; or maybe even replacing it with Magick (but still using the samahdi training it has given me) but don't know where to start. Reading Perdurabo and Magick Without Tears I suppose the best place to start is with Knowledge & Conversation of the Holy Guardian Angel and maybe by way of Liber VIII: The Ritual Proper for the Invocation of Augoeides. I'm still recovering from what the doctor's call necrotizing pneumonia with a lung abscess (originally the size of a golf ball) caused by CA-MRSA (community associated methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus) which can be fatal so I've not been able practice my Buddhist oer Qigong stuff lately, which also means I'll have to fully recover before I take up any demanding Thelemic courses. Of course, I'm open to advice on how to maintain such activity while recovering from illness.
I live in Porltand, and know there are a handful of Thelemic groups here but I've not investigated them.
So that's my introduction.
Glad to be here. I hope it is a good experience for me.

Hi Landis, welcome to the forum.
I live in Portland too. I run a small study group here. If you ever feel like checking out one of meditation classes, we're on Method as Ha-Shoshanah Study Group.

No worries. Sorry to be such a newbie, but I can't find a section here called "Meetup," but I did find this:
<!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://www.heruraha.net/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=10163">viewtopic.php?f=1&t=10163</a><!-- l -->
Is this the same group? Looks intense--despite for beginners and non-beginners alike. Sorry if I'm showing green again, but properp protective measures will be implemented, correct?

Yep, that's it.
It's not a full Enochian ritual, just a guided meditation, with proper banishing.
Safe enough for me to feel comfortable having my pregnant wife attend.
