My first evocation, or I can magic and so can you!

Please note: If you are afraid of being contaminated by the "path of another" read no further.
Before attempting my first evocation I must admit to the fact that I had been performing Resh, Star Ruby, the Middle Pillar, Reguli, and the Mass of the Pheonix for quite some time. You could say that I was magically primed to take the next logical step in asserting my Will by attempting to control a Yetziratic entity. I had suitable skills with invocation and I could manifest pretty well with the use of talismans. At this step in my development I had taken interest in spagyric tinctures and plant level alchemy. I decide the most effective way to produce a stone was internally if I was going to obtain the most potent effect.
I chose my first experiment in Alchemy to work within the sphere of Jupiter. After researching several herbs of Jupiter I decided to use Lemon Balm for my experiment due to it's restorative properties. I bought the herbs from the local market, consecrated the herbs like a talisman, ground the herbs in a mortar, and began the maceration process. Each day I would take of the jar of the tincture, and hold it in my hand while doing the Middle Pillar. During the planetary hour on Thursday's I would invoke Zeus and the planetary hierarchy and charge the tincture.
Once I felt the process was complete I began to separate the parts of the plant. At this stage of the process I sampled the tincture and meditated. I realized that to master this sphere I would need to establish a strong Yetziratic link. And so, balls to the wall, (as I was in that time) I decide to evoke a Goetic entity. I pulled out the catalog and with much deliberation I decided to use Seere for this task.
I had the good fortune of being given very good advice from practical magicians on how to evoke these beings with little resistance. I made a second tincture and began the same process of consecrating it as I had with the first. This entire time I was consuming the first product I had made! People would remark that energy seemed to come off of me, a clairvoyant friend said that my Body of Light was sharply defined and gave off an intense light. I found that day by day my senses became more refined and that my sleep was more restful with vivid dreams. I friend who was experiencing impotency sampled my tincture, and found himself standing at attention (according to his wife)!
I transformed my temple into a temple of Jupiter. I hung beautiful banners of planetary sigils, burned appropriate incense, and performed daily invocations to Chesed and Jupiter to prime the space. This was no simple matter. At this time in my life I was fortunate enough to be able to spend HOURS performing magic, simply because my work was slow and going out was expensive.
Following the Legemeton I produced the seas of Jupiter and fastened them to a stole I made for my robe. The paper for these seals was dipped in the tincture for the evocation and dried before having the seals painted on them. Every preparation was done in order to create a comfortable environment for the Spirit to manifest. The final step in the process was making the sigil for Seere following the same method I used to create the pantacles. As I was making the sigil, something began tapping from window to window on my second floor apartment. I took the omen as the positive sign that the spirit wanted to be "let in."
I opened the temple with the Star Ruby and excerpts from Liber 15. I performed Liber Reguli to raise my own energy, and drank more of the tincture. I began my evocation of the spirit, circumambulating the magic circle and naming the hierarchies of Chesed and Jupiter, compelling the spirit to come with each name. Suddenly, the steam from the fondue pot puffed into a man shaped cloud that gradually took on more features the more I recited the evocation. When I was satisfied with the level of manifestation I greeted the spirit. I gave the spirit his charge and bid him to depart, extending my wand as a gesture to seal the pact. A misty arm reached out and touched the wand and I felt a strange sensation in my Ajna. I gave the spirit time to depart and began my banishings.
Several days after this ceremony, I was drinking with my clairvoyant friend, when her face glazed over and she looked at me making remarks that the spirit made during the evocation. I responded telling the spirit should leave because he was not invited to come this way. He responded with quick advice and left. My friend had no memory of the experience.
The spirit fulfilled his charge, after I followed the given advice, and I made a small place for him (a little box) where I kept his sigil and occasionally l would light candles and make requests.
Since this operation, I have performed similar experiments with other spirits to varying degrees of success. Now that I have been initiated to the level I am now, I no longer use these methods as they are largely obsolete for me.
My advice in dealing with Spirits: Think bigger than the perceived problem and find what is actually out of place in your life before making requests. Don't fear that your request will be denied for one reason or another, and don't settle for less than true stability in your results (as an unattended spirit can cause things to "wane")

Beautiful work... and your remarks cover so many things that get so often neglected.

Thank you, Jim.
I was fortunate enough to have some more experienced magicians to give me hints to keep right direction, mainly regarding the use of the Solomonic pantacles and the need for constant purification and consecration. But the majority of the work was mine, and as far as I can tell original (comparing to what is in print at the moment).
I did neglect to mention that the ceremony was concluded with a modified Mass of the Phoenix. I believe that the Eucharistic consumption was perhaps the most important part of the ceremony.

Great one Houngan, My evocations have always been "one direction" and mainly the New Avatar Power ones (me talking to the spirit), yet I got "signs" from them to make me aware they're there (flashes, or messages days after).

My only issue with NAP is that is employs spirits as wish granting devices, which can lead to big problems for some people. Spirits, like any living being have likes and dislikes. They are certainly not machines and need respect and nourishment.

Yes, I agree to a extent, I always keep in mind their gods/spirits and notice how they interact to help me advancing in my Great Work (they always benefit as much people as possible when performing their miracles), and I'm thankful for the job they always done.
NAP is a painless way to start succesfully in magick (it was for me and many others as I read in forums across the net)

Very enjoyable to read.

I needed money to move my life to North Carolina from Jax, Fl; approximately $2000 to cover all costs to move. I received a debit card in the mail for a settlement from a lawsuit that my mother had won and didn't tel me about. She didn't know I was planning on moving and felt that I deserved it because it indirectly involved me when I was much younger. The debit card had $2500 dollars on it. A year later when I needed to move back to Florida, I tasked the spirit with coming up with the money I needed for a moving truck. My mother got a call from her attorney saying that there were additional funds that were going to be given to her for reasons that are obscure to me. It was the exact amount I needed for the truck, she had no idea I was planning the move.
The spirit also made for an excellent spy, and would find out verifiable facts about people. He also helped me secure a promotion by causing the other candidate some automobile problems when we need to travel 200 miles for a meeting. Our superiors decided the other candidate was unreliable and gave me the position. Oddly enough his car was working fine after the decision was made. It wouldn't start or something like that. This all about 4 years ago, so I apologize for the vague details.
I documented the working better than the results, because the working interested me the most at the time.

It reminds me of when I was younger, and (back then) a religious conservative. Every now and then, I would demand "God" do something for me. It was an unusual attitude fir me to take. But invariably it worked.
One day, when I was unemployed, I went to bed saying, "I've served you, and now I'm stuck. You owe me. I'm broke, and I need a job tomorrow."
The next morning, the phone rang. I got a job interview, and was hired.
I didn't have any money for food until after my first paycheck, so I went to bed, praying with the same attitude. The next day a friend came up to me and said, "I've been thinking, you probably need some cash to get you through the next few weeks" (though I hadn't said anything to anyone about my situation). He pulls a check out of his pocket and hands it to me.
It's a reminder to me how life changes based on how we face it. There is success, and will, and action. And they have nothing to do with doubt, fear, being "right", etc.
