January, Janus and Mars

93!
(I hope this is the correct place for this thread...)
Being that tomorrow is January , I arrived at a question:
According to Lon Milo Duquette's Chicken Qabbalah book, Mars ends and begins the Solar year (i.e. there's a back to back Mars in the cycle). Are Mars and Janus somewhat synonymous in this respect, being that Janus is double headed, one head looking forward and the other backward?
If anyone has anything to share about that, I'd greatly appreciate it as always!

The Roman year didn't begin in January, but in March, the Mars month. (Hence, Oct, Nov, and Dec were the 8th, 9th, and 10th months.)
And I bet Lon was talking about the Tarot circle of decanates, which isn't really the same thing.
But the Roman year did begin with March, the Mars month.
