**55. Then let the End awake. Long hast thou slept, O great God Terminus! Long ages hast thou waited at the end of the city and the roads thereof.
    Awake Thou! wait no more!
    56. Nay, Lord! but I am come to Thee. It is I that wait at last.

Here I picture circular movement and in one way I see it as the snake that eats its own tail; I also see it as a coiled snake with the movement from downward upwards in a progression. "Then let the End awake" - implying a beginning, I suppose wherever any individual starts, and the End probably referring to the end of the identification with the personality, the Ruach, culminating in conscious identification with the Neshamah.

Humanity is composed of all modes of consciousness from the highest to lowest aspects (or the most inward to the most outward) although some of these modes of consciousness lie latent, sleeping, and waiting. The higher modes of consciousness are invoked and at the same time it was there all along. At this point the Adept awaits, invokes, and prays in adoration.

For me, much of this is theory and much of what I can grasp is to take the advice of patient waiting, persistence, and a healthy does of invoking often that the End may awaken me in my due time.
