Outer Order Hood "Patches"
-
Some time ago there was a thread in which Jim showed the embroidered "patches" he used for the Zelator and Practicus symbols on his robe. I thought I would share the ones I've made for myself* and tell you how I did it.
I got some "glitter" inkjet-printable iron-on transfer paper, printed the symbols, and applied them to black felt. (Felt is better at not fraying than woven fabrics; this saved a bit of work in hemming the edges, which would have been needed if I used linen or something; plus, it's got a more "solid" surface for the transfer to stick to.)
I then took black permanent ink and went over the black bits of the transfer paper, which came out sort of medium-dark gray from the interaction of black printer ink and silvery glitter paper, to make them really dark black.
Can fasten to robe via velcro spots. If anyone wants the files for the symbols, I can provide them in several formats.
