    93,

Correct me if I´m wrong in something, but I have understood that with each new equinox, a new word is given in each order which will guide it´s work in the next six months. So I have decided to do a word along those lines with a pair of friends for our little "order", but due to my lack of astrological knowledge I have based entirely on the thelemic calendar, also because in my particular case it has proved to go well macrocosmically somehow. My question is principally about the nature of this word, traditionally in the A∴A∴. I have a strong feeling that it must be probably based on the astrological course of the next six months, though It´s only an assumption.

The equinox is the equinox, independent of calendars, zodiacs, or anything else. The next equinox (vernal equinox of the northern hemisphere) occurs March 20 at 4:30:08 AM GMT (adjust for other time zones, e.g., March 19., 9:30 PM in Los Angeles).

There is no absolute, formal rule of how a Word is to be derived, especially since you're doing your own thing. A contacted Order receives it by one or another means directly from the Third Order. Traditional methods of receiving this are unrelated to current astrological patterns.

Thanks Jim! Very much appreciated. It have much more beauty the Word coming that way, definitely.

It´s possible to elaborate? Some experience related with the reception or later working with the Word?

We are devoted thelemites in that group, just that we have a "ménage à trois" with that other thing we are creating, which is sort of thelemic anyway.

The methods are not given out openly, though a lot of hints are given in Crowley's published diaries. The basic idea, though, is that the head of the Order aligns with the life stream of the universe - essentially becoming one with The Word, or primary vibrations or impulse as it is moving through the world in the early hours after the new Equinox - and by one of several methods (sometimes inspiration, sometimes divination, sometimes a different kind of magick) receives the Word.

Fascinating, it seems to me that when you talk about "the life stream of the universe" (because of something I recall reading from you about Chiah) and "becoming one with The Word" you are referring somehow to Chokmah and the Magus grade? That method of reception has something to do with that? Also, do you remember in what part of Crowley Diaries I could found that? Thanks!

One-line references are scattered throughout his published diaries for 1914-1923.

Yes, the Word in question is an articulation of what is streaming through Chakh'mah. This isn't limited to the 9=2 grade, though - Crowley was receiving these at least by 7=4 (to which the function of receiving the Word for an Order is best attributed), and I think his notebook record of them goes back before he was formally 6=5.

Most often, the function of 9=2 for this particular purpose comes through the mechanism of 2=9, in case that helps you.

Would different Orders receive the same Word?

When I've had the opportunity to know, it hasn't usually been the case except in limited instances when it is so by design. (This also deals with the karma, purpose, & immediate "marching orders" for the particular Order.)

They've been English, Greek, Hebrew, Latin, and more.

I supposed I should say that it's my role to receive the Word for A.'.A.'. and Temple of Thelema, FWIW.

So, presumably every lineage has their own different words each equinox? And I'm assuming these words are confidential to that particular lineage?

I found a partial list of words from when Crowley was alive. I don't know if they were ever public or if someone just extracted them from private letters and journals.
