Liber LXV, Cap II, v. 10-11
    10. But she stirred not; only by my kisses I defiled her so that she turned to blackness before me.
    11. Yet I worshipped her, and gave her of the flower of my youth.

As time goes by, the object of worship becomes changed for our mind/perception; the initial shine is diminished (gold turned to blackness); the feeling is: the Ideal is taking all, and giving out nothing.
But the Adept does not stop worshiping. ( Persistence! - particularly in the sense of M. de Molinos's instructions)
