What's with the Golden Dawn nowadays?

I've come across the website <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.golden-dawn.com">www.golden-dawn.com</a><!-- w -->, briefly read through their homepage, signed up to their newsletter, and I must say that this guy (his name is David Griffin, I'm not sure if anyone else is involved) seems like an abominable charlatan.
All their newsletters are about sale promotions, and their "content" seems more like New Age crap (e.g. "how to attract wealth") than real initiation.So, my question is: is that really The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, or just a lousy scam? If it's really the Order, how in the world did it get down to that level?

I've downloaded a PDF file written by that David Griffin called Ultimate Life Mastery.
It begins with an introduction written in layman's terms, then explains the Rite of the Qabalistic Cross, and then details some "Empowerment Spell" using the Egyptian pantheon.
So it's better than I previously thought, but still not really impressive. -

Everyone will disagree with me, but, in actuality, truth, reality, the big cahoona, the Golden Dawn exists internally. The outer image of it is just a means to point one within.
