the basis of the universe in the thelemic sense is the divine will. This divine will is the force that causeth the ain to concentrate within itself the point of kether. The three supernal sepheroth are beyond the comprehension of the intellect. they are unknowable in the most profound sense. they are not quantifiable-not measuable. science in the emperical sense has nothing to offer here. it is not by intellect or measurement that one becomes aware of this sublime revelation. it is by clearing the dross of mind phantoms through mystical and magickal means that one sees that one has as ones own core this unknowable transendant aspect within oneself. There is little to be written even in the most poetic forms about this state or revelation or vision.
This discussion about materialism et al while seemingly intruguing has nothing to do with the core activity of thelemism. Yes, discuss it as you will, but you are not advancing into the teachings or understandings which constitute thelema or the A.'.A.'.

All the books of science and all the discoveries of science in the material vien are but phantoms to dillude you into thinking that the self described ascendancy of the intellect is a reality when the intellect can barely rise as high as tipareth in yetzerah. the intellect burns away before one enters the city of the pyramids. The nature of reality is will. The very essence of creation is an act of will and each and every convultion of emanation is also a subsequent expression of that will. Also the discovery of that will and the method to do this constitute the most important activity and the most stupendous goal. The Theories of science in the vien of logical positivism and empirisism are doomed to be but the constructors of crude assiac tools and manipulations which pale in comparison to the subtle spiritual devices and understandings of the higher aspects of the tree which are handed down and also discovered through the methods of adepts.
When it was asked what is the nature of the universe i wonder if it was meant 'from a perspective of modern scientific thought' or wasit meant the 'perspective of scientific illuminism'. the latter has a valuable answer but the former is limited in scope and grasp. empirical science has its place but until it changes its tune that place is in hod and yesod mostly in the assiac and lower yetzeratic.

that is not to say you can't use the discoveries, ideas and language of the empirical sciences to springboard ideas and abate the doubtful nature of the mind (thru using the scientific description of odd occult ideas) as it passes the lower grades. eventually the study of what stuff is is subsumed into more sublte realization and such things are no longer of value.

You have a point that Grant seems to undermine the very basis of the qlphth. I've seen a number of writers of the lucifarian etal trad. do the same with infernal dimansions...there is a certain sympathy with wrathful deities from the east. a kind of exploration and speculation geared towards formulating perspectives in the western mystical currents a sensabilty of this. a kind of untabooing the usage of destructive forces and seeing the benefit of said influences. also he does seem to simply enjoy manuevering ideas around echother to effect the angle of perception. the qliphoth seems to lose it meaning when made into attributes to be saught though sometimes you must stear into a skid to correct it.
