3 Solutions to the Liber CCXX II:76 RiddleThat is very impressive!
"If we use standard Hebrew gematria on the second row letters, we get:
RPSTOVAL = Resh-Peh-Samekh-Teth-Ayin-Vav-Aleph-Lamed = 200+80+60+9+70+6+1+30 = 456"
The number 456 is also "NVTH" (Nut, or Not) and Nu, Vav, Thav in full values = (224 +24 +418) = 666!!!
"Now, you’ll notice that that leaves off the “X” of the second row. “X”, the 24th letter, does not have a Hebrew equivalent. But, if we take it to have a value of 24, and we add it’s value to the first row, we get…"
Actually the "X" could be put into the equation if you look at it as an archaic form of the letter "Thav" which is a an "X" (just a thought)
Thank you for sharing this, I have learned a great deal of things that I would not of thought in a million years!

A simple solution for verse 76 (no qabalah).Verse 2:76 is perhaps the most cryptic part of the text of Liber Al, and I am still waiting for the day when it is "solved" and we can all forget about it! I have always wondered why Crowley's soluton has never appeared in print, for he actually wrote a letter to Frater Achad regarding "Liber 31" and said that "Your Key opens the Palace. ccxx has unfolded like a flower. All solved, even 2:76 and 3:47"
Is this delusionon Crowley's part? since Liber Al itself says regarding that verse: "Thou knowest not; nor shalt thou know ever. There cometh one to follow thee: he shall expound it."
Also in 3:47: "in these are mysteries that no Beast shall divine.Let him not seek to try: but one cometh after him, whence I say not, who shall discover the Key of it all"
When Crowley said "All solved, even 2:76" he must have been fooling even himself, since it contradicts what Liber Al says!
And the search goes on.

*I agree, it is a bad pun, but so are most Qabalistic puns! I actually got the Idea from Frater Achad who said that "Nu" נו was secretly written in Liber Al. 3:8. as: "and none shall stand before you." (Nun = "none") and (you = "U" which is "Vav") and I thought to myself the attributions for נו are: ו and נ which have values of
= 506 and = 207 and together = 713 which is the value of ♄, which is attributed to ת and that those three letters spell:
נות which when transliterated is "N.O.T." and have a value of 456, but also this:
נון in full = 224 ( )
**וו **in full = 24 ( )
תו in full = 418 ( ♄ )
224 + 24 + 418 =** 666**!!!
Also 713 is the value of ολοτελης = "perfect" and παγκρατη****ς = "All-Powerfull" (Pan) and since ת is an "X" in archaic Hebrew ** נות** "N.O.T." could also be transliterated as "N.O.X." which = 210, and 456 + 210 = 666!!!
Both "N.O.X." and "N.O.T." refer to "nothing" which is "Nu" (Nuit) and can be looked at as the "Ox and none":
"Ox" = ( ו ) and the "none" = "Nun" ( נ )

*Thanks! thats interesting; when"OLOS"(whole/perfect) is added to "MH"(Not) it = (370 + 48) = 418!!!

&"A Lowdown on Qabalah,&" written by myself"Obviously, this is a tremendously complex and intricate subject, the development of which has taken place over many centuries – a simple 5- or 6-page paper can barely even scratch the surface! Hopefully, though, once one sees Qabalistic concepts mentioned after this point, they may prove to be comprehensible."
Thanks for your insights on this "tremendously intricate subject" I'm always interested on what others think.
Have you any insights on the analysis of numbers and their relationship to other numbers, or on the different techniques that a "Qabalist" might use to get some insight into a certain word or number? how valuble is ,say, the technique of temurah, or Aiq Bakir, Notaricon ect.. in getting a deeper insight? How is one to go about finding deeper meaning in a obscure Qabalistic texts such as Sepher Yetzirah besides the on the surface meaning of Sepheroth, paths, four Worlds ect... This subject holds a tremendous facination for me! Crowley had mentioned a Qabalistic system of such depth and sublimity but has never been published, and it has got me experimenting with all kinds of different techniques to get a deeper understanding. It is said that if two words have the same value that they are "somehow" related and that by a little meditation one can glean valuble insights, I find this to be true
but I dont want to fall into the trap of valuing the non essentials. Crowley uses many different techniques such as tranliterating a English word into either greek or Hebrew, and then takes the value of that word to further extract further meaning; how useful is this method in your own experience? I have always wondered about the English language and its Qabalistic value, but all of the systems that I have tried yeild strange results; do you have any ideas on this?I'm sure that my ignorance is apparent, but I am genuinely interested in understanding more on this"infinitely confusing " subject.

Where to startHey brother, I would get Liber ABA Book 4, as that book sums up almost everything that is "Thelema" and has many of his books including the Book of the Law and Equinox of the Gods that deals with how he recieved Liber Al vel Legis, and it is in plain language! One book that I really love is the "Heart of the Master" and I'm sure that you will too! Honestly, every book by A.C. is worth getting, but those two are wonderful. If you are interested in Qabalah, his 777 and other Qabalistic writings is a masterpiece, as well as his "Book of Thoth" dealing with the Tarot, together with the actual Tarot deck. I hope that helps.

Music and Qabalahthe german composer Karlhienze Stockhousen has developed a system that he says is alot like the music from the "beings" in the Sirius star system, which he says he visits from time to time LOL. You might want to check his music out, it's pretty crazy stuff! I think he also wrote a book about his theories, but I cant say for sure.

!I knew that you were going to say that, I ask that question constantly! One thing that is says to me is that I am dealing with something truly mystical and magical, and I find it hard to beleive that all this is just a coincidence;
maybe some of it actually IS coincidence, but compiling the raw data is something I do so that I have for future reference something which I can work with in my meditations, and when I have any further ideas I will let you Know. I am just thowing things out there, for whatever their worth is. -
centauros1146Greetings all, I am a classical musician by training, and and artist(drawing painting,ect...) with a deep interest in Ancient History, Languages, and things of an esoteric nature generally. I came across "Thelema" almost by accident while I was a bookseller back in 2002, and it is a long story to say the least. I really did not know anything about Ceremonial Magick, but the meeting I had with a couple from O.T.O. truly set me on the quest to discover my "true will", and was initiated into the Minerval degree shortly thereafter. My initiation surpassed all of my expectations, and was truly a wonderful experience! Having said that, there was one thing I was to battle, and that was the 3rd chapter of Liber Al vel Legis; everything was great, but that chapter haunted me! Eventually I ended up leaving the O.T.O. to go on my own path, but I still persued the studies set forth in my Minerval package, and I still do.
I do not own a computer, but occasionally use my brothers, and just last month I discovered "The Temple of Thelema" and I was delighted to read what other Thelemites had to say. Nobody in my life has the slightest clue that I study the occult, so I have nobody to share my crazy ideas with, and this "Thelemic Forum" seems to be the best place to do that!

*Thank you Jim, I have read the Vision and the voice many times, but I confess that I find this book so deep that almost all of it over my head. I am just beginning to get a bit of a grasp on the subtle meanings behind the meanings of words and numbers ect.. and yes, your book is on my "have to read list" !

*Thank you All, I actually thought to myself what a strange Name for a goddess (NOX/NVTH), but it was the way Crowley worded it in his commentary by emphasizing "Great Night" and "All" that made me think of The "Night of Pan" who is the "ALL" and the fact that "Nut" and "Not" are titles associated with her. The numbers that arose from these two names, and the meanings behind them made me shake my head and think "Holy Crowley" there has to be some hidden meaning behind this, it just can't be a coincidence, it must be by design! Whatever the deeper meaning is, I certainly am not qualified to say, but Liber Al vel Legis never ceases to amaze and inspire me!
I always knew that Babalon/Nuit were different aspects of the same goddess, but I thought to myself, Crowley could also be diverting peoples attention away from some truly secret doctrine; besides, it not really that secret if he disclosed it in the first place!93!
