I agree entirely. What good is prophecy if you can't change it? I don't remember where, but there is a saying I heard once the goes "a good prophecy is one avoided".

I'm not trying to reduce the system to a bunching of the paths of Yoga - I was just curious if the Supernal Grades had Yogic practices attributed to them on account of virtually every Grade before them having one - but I wasn't trying to narrow it down to that.

What (if any) forms of Yoga apply to the Grades of the Babe of the Abyss? Magister Templi? Magus? Ipissimus?...or are these Grades more compatible with the language of Buddhism & Taoism?

This pretty much answers my question - but how does Karma Yoga relate to mastery of magick?

Is there a specific type of Yoga attributed to 1=10?

...also, aside from Yin, Yang, & Tao; might the Third Order also correspond to the 3 Marks of Existence in Buddhism: Dukkha, Anicca, & Anatta?

The first & third Orders of A.'.A.'. are often the subject of discussion but the second Order I have noticed is often left neglected.

Jim, can you explain some of the subtle differences between the Grades of Adeptus Minor, Major, & Exemptus?

Is it possible to vibrate a divine name without projecting the name via the Sign of Horus? The only instruction on vibrating divine names I can find from A.C. involves the Sign of the Enterer...how would one vibrate the divine names in the Middle Pillar Exercise?

Also, why is no name vibrated at the point where the light meets Tiphareth in the Middle Pillar Exercise? There is a name for Kether, Yesod, & Malkuth...I can understand why there would be no name vibrated for Daath but why not Tiphareth?

Santeria may have developed seperate from the Yourba people - but that is only because they were seperated from their native country. Santeria would not exist if it weren't for the religion of the Yourba people being taken through Cuba & the Americas.

I've been reading trough the teachings of the early Grades of A.'.A.'. - I see that 3=8, 4=7, & 5=6 correspond to the practices of Gnana Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, & Raja Yoga respectively...does Karma Yoga, Hatha Yoga, or Mantra Yoga correspond to any of the Grades?

I have a metaphysical dilemma I was hoping you guys could help me with.

There is perceivably only one way in which the average man might resign from his occupation as a human - suicide...a voluntary leave from experiential reality.

Taking this into account, how is one to view the circumstances surrounding the incarnation of a soul upon the material plane? Because it is a voluntary endeavor to leave the form of reality one is experiencing prior to incarnation is it analogous to suicide upon the material plane?

In Thelema, death is viewed as a sort of graduation. What about a Willed death?...would that not be more analogous to voluntary incarnation?...the voluntary leaving from one plane of existence to enter another?

So what would the elemental correspondances of YHVH & AHIH be? Is YHVH the traditional fire, water, air & earth? I have never seen an elemental correspondance to AHIH...

I'm not sure I know what you mean...are you talking about the elemental attributions of each letter?...such as A=air, D=fire, N=water & I=earth?

No, they're given the same way - at the center, at the middle part of the ritual. They aren't given in the quarters as in Reguli.

The Liber 333 version has Fire in the East, Water in the North, Air in the West, and Earth in the North. The MT&P version has Earth in the East, Air in the North, Water in the West, and Fire in the South."

Why are the directions so plyable? I thought east was air, earth eas north, west was water & south was fire...can you explain to me how & why the same ritual would have several different corresponding directions?
