The problem with this view is that you make a false duality. You can't devide the creation from the source. As it is said, Kether is in Malkuth and Malkuth in Kether but in a diffrent order. The great work I belive is not to unite but to realice that there is no division. But this is not as easy as it sounds.

Just as there is no "god" there is no "me"
It's hard to try to grasp a matter wich in the end can not be expressed with words. I guess you know, feel it in you're heart. Just be. Very Zen

You can say a lot of things about Grant just as you could say about Crowley. Grant's books have given me a lot of insights and new way to see things. You don't have to buy all. Take what talks to you, leave the rest

I don't care about the talk about LHP or RHP. It's so easy to get it all mixed up. Good and evil? Naaah it's all the eye of the beholder. I like the idea that Thelema is a middle way. At the end does it not say Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law? Find youre way and follow it

In a group I was with during the 90's we saw Nepthys more like the dark side of Isis. That part we turn a blind eye to.

I don't know if there is a word for it in english but in sweden we got a word "barnatro" you can call it Faith of a child. A faith not questiond.

An easy way to explain this is that a right hand path person strive to union with the source while a lef hand person tries to break the band. He belive in duality and to make the self a "god". wich you can se in the tos pentagram wich does not touch the cirkel.

I can only speak on my own experience. I have meet let's call him a contact on the inner planes (no not on the internet) during pathworkings and during meditations.
After a whily I asked for a name and proof. He gave his name, sort of a nick name for this one I got to know later but at the time it made no sence.
The day after I wisited a friend of mine, she hade painted an egyptian god and put on the wall, I didn't know who it was so she told me the name, but didn't give me the ordenary name but the "nick name". This knocked me off my feet
And after this he has followed me to this day.

Crowley and thelema is in a way very close to buddhism but this is different regarding the flesh so to speak.

One who is fixed on the idea to break the material bond aren't they as fixed in the flesh as those who enjoy life, sex etc..? Or even more so because they cant stop thinking about it all the time.

This is true, it is one of the most beautiful books in my book shelf.
And it was not that expensive either. I orded it when I saw it on line. But as I live in sweden I had to pay tax for it and if that was not enough I also had to pay a fee for payng the tax. That's sweden for you

I have read a lot what I could find on the net. The CoS paper is interesting in a historical way.
But as you say their wiev is a dualistic one and I gues this is the reason in them choose the old Horus rather then the Horus in connection with the Osiris mytos since the recemblance whit christian myth.
They call Crowley a Magus but to be abel to do that but still keeping the left side view they change focus.
