I was quoting a famous song of course. 😄

The allusion implying "spread libations and enjoy your reward." That is the most genuine of gratitudes.

    93,

I think we all have our own methods of thanks we apply for general circumstances, i.e. when we don't know what the spirit wants or what it would want if it told us. I personally ask spirits whom are performing a service for me what sort of offering they would like- I give them that.

If I gain no answer I tend to imbue water or wine with my own personal energy and dedicate it to the spirit by placing it on a representation of their sigil and leaving it on my altar for 24 hours.

Other than that I go out and enjoy the fruits they have granted me as agents of Nu, "My joy is to see your joy" and all that.

I am not the most traditional magician out there however, so take this with a grain of salt.

    93, 93/93.

What works for you when you ask them? Stop thought and see what you get?

"What works for you when you ask them? Stop thought and see what you get?"

I wouldn't call it stopping thought per se, rather being aware of what is of that portion of Self I identify as 'me' and anything else that is streaming through at that moment of evocation: I make no conclusions as to whether the portion I identify as the spirits requests is my unconscious, the genuine spirit, or both. I just know it isn't of regular egoic consciousness.

You leave the water or wine for them on an altar.

They like incense. However as for human it's the gesture that counts isn't it?. Any birthday card or xmas card is better than no card.

"What do you think about thanking an entity who worked for you whether it be Archangels, Angels or spirit?

How would you thank them or show appreciation?"

I didnt see anyone bring this up, and it was the first thing that popped into my head....

Your phrase implies an agreemen between you and something other then you to do some action on your behalf. "Who worked For you"

It would be bad form to not show gratitude/ thankfulness.

But I also think that because thereis an agreement there is an obligation to compensate this "other than you" for thier energies.

I would think an exchange of somesort Has to take part, wether you choose to have a thankful attitude or not

Knowing that Nothing is free i would be aware of the price to be paid, before i got some thing other then myself to do it .

How i compensate and give thanks depend on the particulars

I pay with love and light. I perform the M.P. ritual and give them the energy. Then I do the License to Depart.

An exchange whether you like it or not, yes thanks.

You give them energy in the M.P. ritual yeah I can see how that relates as I like the idea that they connect to us through our chakras.
