Pronounciation of Evoe
-
Greetings Jim, all.
I was going to incorporate this word in a ceremony involving the N.O.X. signs, and was wondering the exact pronounciation of it.
I guess the E is pronounced as a long english A. But the last half of the word, does it just end as "o" with a silent E, or do you sound out the last E like the first one after the O.
Jim, I'll bet you know this one.
I thank whoever takes the time to read this post, as well as any effort put into helping me.

Eh-vo-ay (or Ay-vo-ay).
A little background: The phrase Io Evoe! is primarily seen in Wiccan contexts, which is kinda funny since (having passed through the Greek along the way) because it's essentially Yo-Ay-Vo-Ay... that is, a degeneration of Yod Heh Vau Heh.

Thank you so much, Jim.
Hey, I am working on the translation of the first part, (rarely seen except for Magick in Theory and maybe one other work I've seen,) which is the original poem in lettered format by Sophocles.
You got any hints besides the translator at the college perseus.tufts.edu?
Thanks again!

No, I always translate the old fashioned way, with a grammer and lexicon at hand. I don't trust any soft translaters.
