The publishing team has asked me to post the following announcement.

Pearls of Wisdom by James A. Eshelman will be released in August (exact date to be determined). 480 pages. US $30.00 (standard shipping paid by C.O.T. in the U.S., and shipping partially subsidized elsewhere). Though this is our first paperback offering, we have stuck to our standard of high quality, durable binding (Smyth-sewn perfectbound) and acid-free components. - Here is the description from the back cover:

“A Black Pearl of Infinite Preciousness”
“Seek the New in the Old ~ Seek the Old in the New.” That was the motto of Black Pearl, College of Thelema’s biannual journal published 1997-2002. Author James A. Eshelman contributed 100 articles during one of the most prolific periods of his career. This anthology gathers over 40 essays – many of them substantially updated and expanded, and some of them never previously published.

Pearls of Wisdom “seeks the new in the old” through a magnificent cache of wisdom teachings from one of Thelema’s most insightful, creative teachers.

This is the “director’s cut” of Black Pearl – and more!
An Introduction to Thelema – the ground shifting world-view of Aleister Crowley – explains Thelema’s core principles of Will, Love, and Star, then expands on the nature of True Will and Love Under Will; Thelema’s pantheon of gods; and the New Era of Aspiration now opening before us. The rest of the book is organized in 7 parts:

It’s in the Basics * Magick * Qabalah * Thelema
Sexual Mysteries * Holy Guardian Angel * The Path
For example, one section (“Magick”) explores a dozen topics of ceremonial magick, including traditional and newer forms of the pentagram and hexagram rituals, Sun adorations, new adaptations of classic initiation rites, the ancient art of evocation, and a new ritual for becoming a purer reflection of your deepest spiritual ideal.

Chapter 32, The Magical Record of Brother Proserpinus, is a modern tale of a brother of A.'.A.'. who undertook the Great Work and succeeded. Four times the size of excerpts published in Black Pearl, this is the centerpiece of the book.

I have been blessed for many years with the love and instructive guidance of that ‘Sun of my soul’ which one of the Thelemic holy books calls ‘a black pearl of infinite preciousness.’ It is this that I always meant by the title of the journal.” – The author

James A. Eshelman has been a writer and teacher of metaphysical subjects for over 40 years. Chancellor of College of Thelema and Prolocutor General of Temple of Thelema, he edited and contributed to Black Pearl for its entire six-year run. He lives in Los Angeles, California, with actress Marion DeSio.

Jim, as soon as you know what will be the pre-order price and shipping cost for Europe - let us know!
(I need the info about the shipping for Serbia in particular, if it's not the same for all of Europe)

Thanks, Thom. The book is at the printing planet and being manufactured. The original "mid-August" is more like late August. (We pulled it back a couple of weeks to upgrade some illustrations.) I'm hoping to have a drop-shipped copy in my hand before I head back East late month (where my lady is on tour in a play). Whether they get mailed out third-to-fourth week of August or about as week later depends on whether the semi truck (driving slowly 2,200 miles across country) gets here before I leave town for a few days. (I want to sign all the early copies.)

If I can find some time to update the ordering system, I'll have the pre-order link ready soon. The page is already in place awaiting the link at www.thelema.org/publication

    Again, thanks for the inquiry.

Based in Ireland here, any idea of when it will be available for preorder with the shipping + handling charge?

I will probably have that working today or tomorrow (figuring out which of a couple of ways to program that), but I can tell you what it is. We pay part of the international shipping (the same amount we'd pay for domestic shipping) and then bill the balance of that. For international priority mail to your part of the world, add US$17.95.

I guess it will be the same (or almost the same) for my part of the world?

That same price has been separately confirmed for Hungary, France, Greece, Hong Kong, Netherlands, Paraguay, and New Zealand. So, I think, outside of U.S. / U.K. / Canada, it's probably universal.

    93,

When you select UK pearls it is 47.95, is this including shipping?

When I go into paypal and select my country the price adds another 34.10 dollars for shipping and totals at 82.05.

    93, 93/93.

Thanks. You're only supposed to get charged the first time. I'll see where that legacy charge is. If U accidentally paid it, we'll refund it, of course.

I see the problem. From the order page, the separate section on shipping charges is still present. I have to figure out how to make that disappear. I advise anyone using this (until I get it fixed) simply not to use the additional shipping calculator - shipping is built into the price already. (I'll have to dig through the code and find where those amounts are being cached. I won't due it tonight, probably, because my spouse is back in town for about 35 hours before hitting the road again, so I'm going to ignore the rest of you 😡 ).

Mark, this was easier to fix than I thought. I'm sorry for the original error. If you haven't placed you order, you can do so now and it will only charge you for the shipping once. If you HAVE placed it, please write the email address of the confirmation email you got, and ask for a correction.
