Remedial Measures

Although I have seen this on vedic astrology books, I post this here as it's probably a better place for this discussion. The question was asked on solunars.net and copied below

I was interested to know whether astrological remedial measures actually help. I know that relocating can help a lot in that respect, but can stones and mantras help too, as advised by some vedic astrologers?
