What is the letter on this Hamsa (hand amulet)?

I think it is Heh, but it could be Chet?
What is the significance? Why is it associated with the Hamsa?

    Thank you

I looked at pictures of 50 or so other hamsa designs, and none of them had this, so it seems unique to this particular example. I'm not sure about that, but I didn't see it on a single other example, so it seems the case.

As for this example, it could simply be a design and not a letter, but it sure looks like a letter. If it's a Cheyth, it's the first letter of Hamsa, and if it's a Hé then it's probably for 5 (as in 5 fingers) or because hamsa literally means "five."

          It's a heh.

"the hand shape of this brass hamsa is in the form of two birds on either side of a Star of David, with the Hebrew letter Heh (symbolizing the Divine Name) in the center."
