Hiya, I'm Neal, also known as Puck. I have been involved in the occult most of my life thanks to my dad being involved in the Feri Witchcraft trad and both my parents being generally involved, though I lived most of the time with my grandparents. When I was about to turn eleven, my mom bought me Modern Magick, and from there I went to Crowley and since then I have been trying to pursue the Great Work, admittedly in a muddled and often mistaken way. I'm 32 now, and results have been mixed to say the least. 😞

I was the manager of 13: Real Magick in Santa Cruz, then one of the co-founders of The Sacred Grove after that till 2003 when I left to go back to college. I got a couple degrees in philosophy, and now I am a writer and freelance web monkey.

My magickal and spiritual practice, as with most occultists I know, morphed and changed as the years went by, heavily influenced by first chaos magick and then LHP. This has not worked out very well on many levels, and I have been sporadic in my attempts for the last six years or so, distracted by a failing marriage and academic responsibilities.

Recently, however, I have resumed regular magickal practice, keeping the journal for the first time in years, etc. connected to the writing of my first novel. The various omens, sychronicities, divinations, and results of my workings since doing this have indicated that I have made Great Misses and need to return to "my roots", as it were, which for me are ceremonialism and Thelema (I never stopped being Thelemite in my philosophies, but my understanding and practice of magick and mysticism became increasingly out of line with it).

So I am here, trying to return to my roots and repair the damage done to myself and my Work. I don't know what that fully means yet, but I wanted to lay it out there. Nice to meet you all.
