I've reading The Book of Thoth currently (or trying to read it) and I'm coming across a LOT of astrological references and degrees, exaltation, etc etc and all this confusing jargon. It's all greek to me. 😕

Aside from that, there's a lot of great stuff in there, and it has helped me get more out of my cards. I just don't understand this cosmological craziness as well as I should.

It's important to remember not to confuse astrology per se with the use of astrological terms as a symbolic language in another context.

For example: The Minor Arcana of Tarot depend on symbolism of the 36 decanates of the zodiac. From the point of view of Tarot, it doesn't matter that there is absolutely no legitimate astrological value to the decanates. Astrology itself doesn't matter for Tarot - only that astrological terms and symbols can be used symbolically as a languae in describing Tarot.

It sounds like you may benefit from a study of Figure 15 in Robert Wang's "Qabalistic Tarot".

There is a newer edition out so I will add that it is the figure just before the section on "Patterns of the Sephiroth" begins. I suggest reading the first 50 pages of this book three times, for starters.

"Parkers' Astrology" is a good one too for general knowledge of the subject. There is so much out there and it really depends on your personality and the way you learn best, in order to be more specific about what might be a good primer for you. Sun, Moon and Asc would be good to know along with placement and aspects to Mercury. Actually, without seeing the natal chart it is almost impossible to be specific. I would start with these two, for sure.

    FREEKIN' Hilarious!

"No authentic portrait of Jesus Christ is available"...

You could spend a few days on the Amazon "Look Inside" option alone. If it holds your interest that long you will probably be a buyer.

    😆
