When I learned LBRP I was taught to move widdershins but all of the publications of the ritual have one moving deocil. Is not widdershins always used for bannishing & deocil for invoking?

    No, that's a false generalization.

I'm not saying, BTW, that the ritua couldn't be performed as your saying. Rather, I'm saying that the Lesser Ritual of the Pentagram (as originally written in the late 1880s and as passed down through the generations since) uses deosil motion.

The generalization also doesn't do justice to the question of widdershins motion. Somewhere on this forum (dating back many years) is a thread where I give about half a dozen distinct uses of counter-clockwise circling, only one of which is banishing (and that is primarily used to take down a current that was established previously in a clockwise fashion, i.e., to neutralize a previously established current by applying its complement).
