Lucid Dreaming

"Do what Thou Wilt.
Ive had experiences with lucid dreaming, can we perform rituals in this state with the same effectiveness? For example is the LBRP still effective if one can operate lucidly enough in a dream state?

I would say it's more effective, I've never performed the whole LBRP in a lucid dreaming state, but I have used individual Pentagrams, with quite marked effects.

I did it once, not with movement really but just vibrating the words, and it was very powerful feeling. I'm hoping to start again with lucid dreaming and hopefully try to do these rituals in them.
A little side question, has anyone (or can you?) Meditate IN a lucid dream? For example assume ones posture and close your dream eyes and meditate? What would happen?
Thanks again!

"How did you learn to lucid dream?"
The first time was a pure accident. I just realized I was dreaming, it it sort of gained momentum in the dream until I was very aware of the dream and details.
After my first encounter I was excited and read more about it. There were various techniques, some have you pretend throughout the day your dreaming, and at intervals stop and look at your hands and ask " am I dreaming?". Doing this while awake often then will trigger you to do so in the dream, at which point you realize your in a dream.
There are many books on the subject with countless techniques. You can even use an affirmation just before going to bed, something like " I will awake inside my dream", or "I will become aware I'm dreaming." Usually for me I experience them if I simply think about doing it a lot. Just want to do it, and imagine doing it, talk about it, keep a dream journal beside your bed. There is something about keeping it in the forefront of your mind that triggers it to occur.

Yes, you can. Ideally you go up a level, so to speak. I prefer to travel that way, you start lucid in a dream and then find a door of sorts to go to your next destination. It much better than the traumatic vibrations and rushing sounds when you try to go OB-astral directly.

Your talking about astral travel aka OBE right? Yeah ive read about lucid dreams being another route. I have tried it and came so far as acquiring vibrations but it didn't lead to an OBE, I suppose it takes of course more practice.
My question was though, can you sit still and just meditate, and is meditation in the lucid dream state different in some way? Does this make sense lol?

Think both methods have there uses, and drawbacks. I am not that experienced in this stuff but I have used the looking at the hands method (From Castaneda I believe?) and methods of OBE directly from a liminal state, usually shortly after the onset of sleep paralysis.
I think the looking at your hands method is possibly the least traumatic, its like gently lowering yourself in, rather than just diving in at the deep end, only I find that it can easily slip into ordinary dreaming and can be difficult to distinguish.
The OBE method seems to be the most convincing in terms of content, it can be traumatic and confusing at first, especially if you think you've just gotten up to get a drink of water only to find that you can't turn on the faucet, and then on looking into the bathroom mirror you see the wrong face looking back! Its like having a head full of LSD and can be just as difficult to consolidate, not to mention the other symptoms; the inability to interact with everyday objects and the new mode of locomotion, i.e. simply willing yourself in any direction, rather than trying to co-ordinate limbs, which is something that we usually don't realise is so complicated.Very strange indeed, but very interesting.

Wow never had that sort of experience with the mirror lol, but sounds interesting! Ive heard that in the astral mirrors and doors can transport you out of the area, for example if you were in the more grounded present reality seeing your physical body etc, a reflective object like a mirror can take you away into a more "unreal" area. I think this was Robert Bruce that said this. Maybe this is why in some cultures, after a death during the days of mourning they cover all mirrors. Perhaps this is to keep the relatives astral body within the realm closest to the material during the transformational period?
