    93 gang,

As of late I have been working on some personal spiritual stuff and I got a bit of a brainwave. The ARARITA, VITRIOL, INRI formulae are familiar to most people, but something has been calling me to research the MERCURIUS formula, attributed to Binah in Liber 418 (The Vision and the Voice).

I can't find what this abbreviation means anywhere. Nor can I find anything about the SULPhUR, SALT or AURUM formula. Are these like, degree sensitive or is there anywhere that could be a clue for me, to what they mean?

    Thanks.

Well, apparently then you don't have my book Visions & Voices, or you could look right on p. 163 in the middle of the discussion of the 24th Aethyr and find:

Mens edax rerum, cor umbra rerum, intelligentia via summa, M.E.R.C.V.R.I.V.S.: “The mind, devouring things; the heart, the shadow of things; intelligence, the highest way.”

"Nor can I find anything about the SULPhUR, SALT or AURUM formula."

    Same page:

Sub aqua lex terrarum, S.A.L.T.: “Beneath the water is the law of earth.”

Summa via lucis: per Hephæstum undas regas, S.V.L.P.H.V.R.: “This is the highest way of the light: govern the waters through Hephæstus.”

I don't know what you mean by the Aurum ("gold") formula. I don't see one in that aethyr. Did you find something elsewhere?

"Are these like, degree sensitive or is there anywhere that could be a clue for me, to what they mean?"

No, they're just things that popped through when Crowley was having one fairly lower plane vision (though a particularly hot passage in that particular vision).

Thank you! Definitely will ponder this aethyr some more.

My bad. And I will buy your book definitely 😄 I have found those in my Weiser V&the V as well. The AURUM is something I found in the back the Tree of Life in the back of V& the V, in the Weiser one at least on p. 253, on the top part of Tiphereth.
