Ok, so, the 0.5"x8" copper rod part is understandable, but what does Liber A mean by "Let him fashion about the top a triple flame of gold."? Does that mean super-glue a 24kt gold pyramid to the top of the rod?

    Welding is better 😀

Gold being too expensive, I had mine cast in silver, then plated with multiple layers of 18 kt gold (much tougher than 24 kt), bonded with rhodium. There's a picture of it here:

Should I be congratulating you on your 4=7?

Well, to be honest, the A.'.A.'. (onestarinsight.org) rejected my Student Examination this week.
I've decided to do it all on my own.

Rejected as in, you failed it, or as in they didn't accept it on the first place? Couldn't you try again?

    "Dear Miles,

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

Thank you for submitting your Examination. I am sorry to say that it did not pass. Many of the questions required much more thorough responses than you provided. For example, question number 2 asked for you to trace a connection between the multiples of 17, but you merely listed their individual meanings. Another example: Question 8 asked you to compare the various Wands of Levi and others, and explain which you preferred, and why. You quoted the various descriptions, but did not explain why you preferred the Wand of Levi. Other responses were equally lacking in detail.

These examples may seem trivial, but they suggest a lack of attention to detail (and/or a failure to read and understand the questions sufficiently) that is problematic for further work in A.'.A.'..

You are invited to contact us again in no less than five years from this date and re-apply for Examination, if it be your Will. Even though we cannot invite you to the Probationer Grade at this time, we earnestly wish you the best in your Great Work. May you attain to the Light.

Love is the law, love under will."

You might want to take that into account (the part about giving vague answers).

Of course, that doesn't mean you're not able to do the Work — perhaps you got particularly lazy at that moment, or honestly thought the answers were very simple.

BTW, if I'm not mistaken, that test seems to be an old one. You could have readily researched it in-depth.

Also, that's just one lineage — you can try another. (Though that one was pretty justified in rejecting you, it doesn't seem right that they keep you out of A.'.A.'. as a whole for five years.) Of course, it's entirely up to you, but consider all of your possibilities.

I wasn't trying to give vague answers. What I gave them was my best; I wasn't expecting
such a tough judgement. I mean, even at the bottom of the exam it says:
    [TEXT REMOVED - Admin]

Of course, this won't take away my aspiration for the Great Work. I've stated my Will and I intend to go through with it.

Could you list a few emails for the lineages? I've tried looking but I can't find any others besides that one where the contact information is available.

I think you set your standards too low.

"Of course, this won't take away my aspiration for the Great Work. I've stated my Will and I intend to go through with it."

That's the spirit. However, (my advice) you shouldn't neglect the basic intellectual knowledge. Why not, for instance, take the examination again on your own, to prove to yourself that you can do it satisfactorily?

You're in USA, right? Why not go for Eshelman's lineage? (helema.org/aa/index.html) I know of a couple others, I guess, but I don't know if I can "announce" them on the forum.

Don't think of it as wasted time. Think of it as extra time. Read stuff, practice stuff. Have fun. 😀
