As I was browsing through images of various seals, talismans, etc., I stumbled upon a very intersting book, much like the Book of Abramelin, but in simpler form and with different spells and seals. The Book, or Books, are called the Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses, and were printed in Europe around the 18th century, and became popular among European immigrants who practiced folk magic. There are several elemental/planetary tables with instructions on their uses and which names of God apply to which and so forth. The system appears Qabalistic in nature and the majority of the writing and God-names are in Hebrew. The system is appealing to me and I'd like to put it into practice, however I don't have a great deal of experience with such tables as I see here.

The instructions say, for the Table of Earth, for instance, to draw the figures on parchment and after the conjuration, to bury the parchment under the earth for fortune, and so on. I assume that in practice I would first accomplish a preliminary banishing, then proceed to draw the figures while an Earth sign is on an angle, the heavens being as harmonious as possible with the working, conjuring when complete. The system relies on the Archangels and God names, and so it seems like this basic formula would apply.

Before I move on from theory to practice, any suggestions or observations?

Another question: is it fitting to take certain aspects of the system individually, i.e. just working with the Jupiter table for matters in that sphere--or would I be expected to go through the process systematically, like in the Abramelin working?

My ancestors some 4 generations ago came from Germany to Brazil. They were farmers with no education living in the middle of nowhere, so I guess no access for reading. I remember my dad telling me a story he heard from my grandfather that besides the first five books in Old Testament, there were the sixth and seventh. If a person read them, the devil itself would appear in front of you. 👿
