Reasonableness of Certain Practices

I've been reading Liber Batracofrenobookosmomacia, and am now wondering how realistic this, and probably similar exercises, are in practice. In particular, can a Practicus really be expected to be able to have her chela handy to assiduously adopt Practice A "for a quarter of an hour thrice daily" for one year? Is there perhaps -- hopefully! -- some sleight of tongue here?

Sleight of tongue might keep some chelas around for at least 15 minutes every day for a year.
