Crowley spoke of using many different methods of Divination: Tarot, I-Ching, Astrology, tea leaves - whatever was best for the purpose at hand. One other thing he mentioned was using Liber L as a divination tool. Has anyone tried it? And how exactly is is used?

Bibliomancy is the technique of using a book for divination.

You basically do whatever preparation you deem appropriate then, with your question clearly in your mind and your eyes closed, open the book, feeling your way to the right page, and point your finger to some place on the page. Open the page and read your fortune cookie.

Well, that is what first came to my mind but thought there might be some technique to it. Fortune cookies? Hmmm...I wonder if I can pull Lotto numbers out of the Liber L passages.

Thanks Jim, I'll go buy one tonight. If I win, I'll give you 6.66 percent take, leaving me about 93.3 %

Could one also use this method of divination with books which aren't necessarily deemed holy? Like for example the dictionary?

For Bibliomancy I use Liber Aleph with great results. Also Liber 418, but the voices are vastly different.

Translated? I didn't know that was the aim. Many have expounded on it, though. Ask Jim about all that - he has an interesting story.

    👌

    Translate? Sure. It was easy:

    Quatre Six Huit Trois A B K Two Four A L G M O R Trois Y X Vingt-quatre Quatre-vingt neuf R P S T O V A L.

That's my French translation. I can do more. 😄
