negative entities and OBE/astral travel

I recently flicked through a book by Robert Bruce, who seems to be a seasoned astral travel teacher (anyone have an opinion on him?)
What struck me was a description of "ugly grinning monkeys" that sometimes await travellers and try to scare them back. I -who have little experience at all projecting- had an experience involving exactly those sorts of things a couple years ago. Basically, I woke up from a dream and those sorts of creatures were lying in wait in my room. The "reality" of it blew my mind, but it was also quite scary.
I'm curious if people see these sorts of things and how to rid oneself of the fear that it's going to happen again should one try.

Thanks for the link. I am aware of banishing rituals but back then I was not.
I was more curious if this sort of entity is a common thing. What struck me was the description this author had. I found that very uncanny because I figured I just had some trippy "dream" unique to myself. It was interesting to see the same thing described elsewhere.
