Hi, has anybody here actually made the full-face hood that the papers describe? Am wondering how they got them so stiff and formed like in the photo of Crowley and my avatar of Leila... the full face part is tucked back up into the hood it seems. Have tried to sew a few but no luck, anybody know someone who can make these? On a side note what is the first word on the book binding? Something Magister...

Welcome to the site! Great first post! May I ask why any of that would matter? I mean, what good is a hat?

      Peace.

Like piecing together historically actuate equipment. Its a hood not a hat, or maybe its a hybrid. Didn't expect anyone to have made one, but there is a chance... Anyways comments of the like and the whole "do what is right for you, or it doesn't matter what its made of/looks like" etc need not be written here, Thanks. Asked a rather specific question about a specific object, for a specific reason.

          Oh, specifically. Oops. Sorry.

Tell me exactly, how does a hat give one K&C of the Holy Guardian Angel? Can you outline the process, or give your own account of how the hood leads to such or how you think it could lead to such? Very good info there.

First of all, you title this "Neophyte hood," but that design doesn't appear until Practicus.

            Here's a photo of mine:

            http://heruraha.net/images/Practicus_robe.jpg

I want all the robe elements detachable, so that a robe is easily converted to a different grade for various ritual purposes. This was made by fine-mesh needlepoint. The mesh provides some stiffness, it's finished with black fabric edging, and the whole attaches to the hood with two black Velcro dots.

It can be removed for a Neophyte robe, or the simpler 2=9 can be swapped on for a Zelator robe:

            http://heruraha.net/images/Zelator_robe.jpg

(That's not a red robe behind it. It's sitting on red fabric for purposes of the photo.)

Wow, someone got hurt. You don't know about the Hood and how it takes 30 years off achieving K&C? If made exactly that is.

Per se, it doesn't (as you knew). But it's part of a formal system and has meaning within that system. The symbol has relevance to the grade where it is added to the robe, and reflects - and anchors - certain experiences. The creation of symbols intrinsic to a particular system increases "buy in" to that system, increasing its ability to serve one.

BTW, since I don't think a color copy has ever been shown, here is the rose-cross that is added to the Dominus Liminis robe. (The same, without the rose, is part of the 4=7 robe).

                http://heruraha.net/images/DomLimCross.jpg

The color reproduction isn't as good as I'd like. The top bar is violet and yellow. The rest is pretty obvious.

                    Thank you.

BTW the sizing is that the hexagram (around the triangle around the eye) fits inside an 8" circle. (This is part of the multiple 8" themes for A.'.A.'. implements.) The other proportions fall in place when you start drafting it based on that.

I'll experience the K&C of my HGA in about two years, or twenty. NO LUST OF RESULT!! Take THAT to heart! OK, um, that is you.

You're the one who raised the issue. The thread was about... well, threads! 🙄 It was a sewing question.

You seem to be trying to pick a fight and derail the original, practical question.

If you cut the entire robe out of a folded 65" fabric twice the height of your body, then the "snip-snip" from the underarm is very close to the two pieces you need for a hood.
