Hey all, my online handle is Ash (I don't use my real name when I talk to those I don't know), and I'm 20 years old. I got interested in Thelema by coming across some Crowley-related stuff online on and off over the course of a few years; I recently got Liber AL and Magick Without Tears and have been burying myself in them routinely.
I'm interested in Thelema because it's the most natural and profound extension I could find of the science-based philosophy I've been constructing for myself over the course of my life. I find myself reading Crowley's work and realizing that I already believe what he's talking about, but never found the words to explain why or how. The 0=2 equation in particular blew my mind because it seems like it's basically another way of interpreting Julian Barbour's timeless, multiworld-esque "Platonia" line of thinking about quantum mechanics; the more I look into Thelemic concepts, the more they seem to literally define many scientific concepts I've internalized over the course of a few years.
I'm not sure how deeply I am going to delve into the practical side of Thelema, but that is a question I hope to answer by routinely stalking the forums and occasionally commenting with what little Thelemic knowledge I have ; )
My only "magical experience" so far has been general "psychic"-related incidents, such as telepathy, empathy, clairvoyance, etc. I meditate and do casual chakra work when I get the motivation to, and have experimented with brainwave states a fair amount. I don't doubt the reality of magick, I just don't yet understand the mechanism, although I have theories.
I have never really enjoyed life for the most part, and I'm 99.999% sure it is a "life philosophy" or "mindset" -related problem that I have been spending years deconstructing (and making progress), and Thelema seems to be the only solution I see (if not in a practical sense, at least in a philosophical sense). I think my discontent/apathy has been due to knowing of the existence of my True Will but not knowing how to get on the path to manifesting it.
Outside of Thelema, I spend my time writing/sequencing music (mostly industrial, metal, and psytrance), casually researching science, philosophy, and magick to better myself, playing video games, and going to college for music production.
Disclaimer: I usually don't use proper capitalization and I tend to leave out apostrophes, but I'm attempting to restrain from that on this forum in the hopes I'll be taken more seriously
Sorry for the long post

Don't apologize!--long winded posts are nothing unusual here.
Coincidentally, I'm also going to college for music, and I came to the teachings of Thelema in much the same way as you. Since that time my discontent has given way to profound peace and happiness, and I wish the same for you. Keep digging; and welcome to the forum!
