If I may ask, why does the version of "The Middle Pillar Ritual" included in 776 1/2 not include the Circulation of the Light at the end of the ritual?

That's an add-on - almost a separate ritual. I've never thought of it as part of the MP per se.
It's a good technique, of course - but the purpose of adding the MP in this particular book was as a tool for drawing forth energy to empower a particular rite. For that purpose, straight MP has always seemed more than satisfactory.

OK, makes sense, thanks.
I never really looked at it in that manner. I always thought the main purpose of the MP was to
fortify and strengthen the aura which, of course, the "Circulation of the Light" does. Obviously
the MP, looked at in the way you outlined above, has much more potential than I was "seeing".Thanks for the insight.
