Wu Xing

Does anyone see parallels between the Chinese Wu Xing element system and the Western one? The Wu Xing has the same system as the West - four cardinal directions, the pentagram, Moon and Sun i.e. yin and yang elements. And what about differences? At first glance the names of the elements differ Wu Xing - Earth, Metal, Water, Wood, Fire; but the West has analogies - Spirit, Air, Water, Earth, Fire. And in the end for me the West and the Wu xing system are the same. What about you?

Its all the same story really, I don't think it really matters which system you use, just go with whatever resonates with you.
