Pentagram and Hexagram elements question

The elements assigned to the pentagram rituals refer to the elements of the microcosm, and in the hexagram ritual we have elements assigned to different directions which refer to the elements of the macrocosm, correct?
During my daily practice I've always learned to open with the LBRP followed by the LBRH.
I have been imagining this to be symbolic of a spiritual endeavor to align microcosmic elements with the elements of the macrocosm. Im not entirely sure what this means yet. Is there any truth behind this?

In the hexagram ritual as usually published, this is correct. However, there is unpublished teaching: The macrocosmic directions were only to be used within the Vault (or equivalent). Generally, the microcosmic directions are to be used in most circumstances for the hexagram ritual. (I published this correction in the appendices of 776 1/2, and it may be the only time it's seen print, though it's well-known within Orders in direct-line descent from the original G.D.)

Would this mean, for example, that in the BRH, the assignment for EAST is the AIR Hexagram ?"
Yes. And Fire to South, etc. See the explicit instructions in 776 1/2.
