I am starting a new group for women in the NYC area who are interested in magick, called Babalon Salon. We will be meeting once a month, on the 1st Mondays, from 7-9pm.

Babalon Salon is open to all women who are interested in learning about the Western Hermetic Tradition. Our studies include Thelema, Golden Dawn, Qabalah, Tarot (primarily the Thoth deck), Ritual Magick, and other Occult topics; particularly as they relate to women. Beginners are welcome. We will be reading texts relevant to these topics and discussing them in an atmosphere of engaging debate and analysis. We hope to inspire and stimulate each other in our intellectual and spiritual growth.
This group is for women only.

    We are on meetup:

    We are on facebook:

Babalon Salon: Qabalist symbolism in Alice in Wonderland
    Sunday, March 4th, 4:00 pm
    New York City

We will be reading "Qabalistic Alice In Wonderland And The Depths Of Hell" by Juan Ramirez.
    www.nachtkabarett.com/babalon/topic/1361--Qabalistic-Alice-In-Wonderland-And-The-Depths-Of-Hell
Aleister Crowley listed both "Alice in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass" by Lewis Carroll as recommended books, with the comment "Valuable to those who understand the Qabalah."
Juan Ramirez takes up his proposal and examines "Alice in Wonderland" from a Qabalist perspective.
You can also read "Alice in Wonderland" here:
    www.cs.cmu.edu/~rgs/alice-table.html

We will be having a "Mad Hatter" tea party: you are welcome to bring pot-luck tea party treats, and if you wish, wear a funny hat.
Bring your ideas and insights into meanings of "Alice in Wonderland".
Donation of $2.00 to pay for the meetup page.
The address will be sent to those who RSVP. RSVP here:

AliceNuit, I meant to show you Alan Moore's Lost Girls last time you were out here That would give you a definite new dimension of insight on Alice. - Maybe there's someone in NY who has the volumes and would be willing to part with them for a short time?

    Babalon Salon presents: The Fool
    Sunday, April 1, 2012, 4:00 pm
For April Fool's Day, we will focus on the Fool, tarot card.

For a history of the Fool in tarot, please read this wiki article:
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fool_(Tarot_card

We will also read what Aleister Crowley writes about the Fool in The Book of Thoth:
    www.bibliotecapleyades.net/crowley/libro_thoth03.htm#0._THE_FOOL

We will have a discussion, then a short meditation on the Fool card.

Ah, I am having trouble with the link to the wiki page, when you get to where it connects, click on "Did you mean: The Fool (Tarot card)"
