Greetings all. The Liber O I have does not have illustrations of the banishing ritual of the hexagram, but says that for banishing, the hexagrams are reversed.

Does this mean that the starting points are the same as the invoking, but to go in a different direction (ie: for Earth start at top point of top triangle but go left to bottom left and continue, then for bottom triangle start at bottom point and go counter clockwise to top right?)

Also, for Banishing, are the Hexagram triangles started in different order, (ie: for water start at top triangle, the bottom, as opposite to invoking?)

Thank you so much for your time and attention.

That means (as you discerned) that (for each triangle) you start at the same point, then go the opposite direction.

"Also, for Banishing, are the Hexagram triangles started in different order, (ie: for water start at top triangle, the bottom, as opposite to invoking?)"

      No. Same order.

I am trying to wrap my head around INRI. Does it mean:

        Force
        Form
        Breakdown
        Rebuild
        ?

Wow, that's a big question. I've never thought of it quite like that, but I will say that it means so very much. One could write hundreds of pages on it.

What you've written above is not too different from one of my favorite impression-sets of it. As a variant, you might try: (I) Hadit {or any pov} (N) devoured by Nuit (R) newborn as RHK, (I) grows up to be a new Hadit.

Stepping out on a limb here, but this sings out a "internal" INRI formula to me:

Use all thine energy to rule thy thought: burn
up thy thought as the Phoenix.

              Becomes (among other things):

Formulate (or establish), put all of your energy into executing, re-evaluate, formulate

Thanks a bunch, Jim. BTW... do you have any good Crowley references to the formula for INRI? I've only been hardcore into Crowley since 2007, so I haven't got all the reading in that I would have liked to. I've got book 4 where it has the formulas for ALIM, Alhim, IAO and the like, but it does not have a good rundown of INRI as far as I can tell.

Force, Fire, Strength and Sight to you and Yours,

                Frank

Not much. The only thing of any substance I can think of offhand is unpublished and confidential (and, even then, is more inferential than explicit).

Oh, and there are some brief, worthwhile remarks in Chapter 71 of Liber Aleph.

Thanks again, Jim. BTW.. like your avatar pics. Just got my first Thoth deck a month or so ago. I must say there's something much more special about them, so connected to energies better than other cards are.

I'm changing it every three days to match the card being worked in the Tarot Meditations part of the forum.

Try "Qabalistic Dogma," written by Allan Bennett and published in Crowley's "777" his "Collected Works" and a host of other places besides. It has an excellent analysis of the IAO/I.N.R.I. formula.
