I have to admit I'm not that familiar with Chaos magic. But now that you suggest it ill take a look. Can it be related to a particular current you like? For example Thelema?
I had no clue about A.'.A.'. System having that option. Interesting! Thank you for your thoughts. I'm definitely going to look into those things.

"Lol I suppose your right! I did forget about that! Speaking of aliens, I'm curious about aliens and everyones take on them and their role in our spirituality, ie magic. But maybe that's for another thread.

Oh I agree 100%! I understand your point, yet IDK perhaps its just the little artistic devil in me that stirs up that desire to make something. I just always find myself coming up with ideas and think its just plain fun. I never truly wanted or desired to leave legitimate systems completely, nor ignore those masterpieces, simply create my own little side dish.

Well you have a point lol. Not sure what's it for, but I'm thinking more along the lines of low magick purposes, and perhaps travelling in the spirit vision into original symbols that create "regions" etc. I may create a map on a trip if I knew a short cut or if there were no maps to some uncharted exotic kingdom!

Hello,
What is your thoughts on making your own magical system? Ive always had the creative instinct to just form my own little "system". I have actually in a way, yet is this "valid"? I already know that you can create your own rituals, but how about forming your own symbol set and "god-names" and related original ideas? Would one give these power and life by simply using them? Is there a problem with creating such a system if it doesn't conform to a particular format etc?

I will paraphrase some guidance I got years ago regarding such a situation:
Every thought before you and the thoughts you have now, has created existence. You cannot over-create upon reality of your own doing, unless you have a thought that is more powerful than the thoughts that preceeded it. That's why we go with the actual names of "God" that "created" this place and sang it into existence.
For instance, if you want a personal Magickal system that actually works like the set ones do, (Set ones, Hadit is in my head again reminding me of something important. Can't take long on this,) then you need to create an Earth Element, a God-name that vibrates and activates that element, BUT it has to be more massive in power and essence than all the "Adoni"s that have been used within our Universe to call and invoke or banish Earth elements and properties.
Kind of like looking at some guy on the street that has challenged you to a game of "I'm gonna get to the door to the shoppe before you do."
If what you want to do can be wrought in reality, you should be able to re-name the guy whilst in the process of beating him to the door, vibrate his name, and make him disappear so you don't have to wait on that bagel! Every time "Jimmy" was called "jimmy", would have to be erased from his mind with your vibration of his new name. Of course then, you could make him go in and pay for your bagel.
Does anyone get this or am I gibbering?

Perfect.
Creating a system is all well and good. Effectiveness is its proof. The System of the A.'.A.'. borrowed a lot from already established practices with a bunch of the bullshit omitted. It could be considered a "chaos" approach - as it combines different systems - but hell, so did the HOGD.
The Systems developed by Adepts are already sufficient, as long as they stay dynamic and shun atavism - but alas, they usually always degenerate into dogmatism.
