I recently came across this forum. Having been pleasantly surprised by the welcoming nature of the community (at least as observed from the public threads I reviewed)
, I decided to join and wade into the waters with you. I've only recently begun my journey towards discovering my True Will. So to start with, I'll proactively beg your forgiveness for any misstatements or newbie errors in my comments and questions as I work to get my bearings. Bare with me... I still have much to learn... even to be able to articulate many of my basic questions.I came to this point in a round about sort of way... I'm an avid reader and not too long ago embarked on the unofficial study of several (previously assumed) unrelated topics... psychology, mythology, astrology, etc. In my readings, I quickly saw the inter-connectivity of these subjects and frequently encountered the topic of the Tarot. This led me to the acquisition of my first tarot deck. I was immediately drawn to the Thoth Tarot, but was repeated warned off by several people stating it was evil and tied to Black Magick. That set me on a knowledge quest of sorts to read about Crowley and the Book of Thoth. Long story short, I stumbled upon Thelema in my quest to find answers to my ever mounting questions following my reading various works by Crowley and others. Although I've read (and re-read) quite a few books on these subjects, I'm only now beginning to understand what these things mean to me and what I might do with this knowledge.
I look forward to learning from all of you and sharing my journey in some small way, in return. I'd love to hear any suggestions you might have on how I might properly gather the knowledge necessary to be able to correctly communicate with those within the community.
