Are black bros supposed, for instance, to consciously plan stuff to control or kill people and enjoy consciously the process? Or are they supposed to think they're genuinely loving and helpful? Or are both ways possible?

Also, what if a white bro fights black bros? Does this make him black? Because black bros are a part of Nuit, so fighting them(except in case of self defense) might be a trick of Choronzon to keep whites from crossing the abyss, and turning them to black in the process?

Not necessarily evil. They could be nice, sweet, well-intended teachers feeding you lines of misleading bullshit based on fear and an unwillingness to surrender themselves to the annihilation of the Next Step.

Maybe. It depends on the individual will. Dismantling damaged structures is in service to the whole, not at odds with it. Black Brothers are damaged structures, "failed units," buggy programs.

both are possible, it seems that the latter is common.

"Also, what if a white bro fights black bros? Does this make him black?"
no, not in general. that might require some kind of vigilante

"Because black bros are a part of Nuit, so fighting them(except in case of self defense) might be a trick of Choronzon to keep whites from crossing the abyss, and turning them to black in the process?"
to my knowledge there is no connection between any two 'Choronzon' intelligences. this is in part an aspect of ideological projection which makes becoming a Black Brother in Crowley's sense possible.

it should be said that this significance for the phrase has been expanded to a positive one as well for LHP function. endless warring or vigilanteeism, investment in moral superiority and ego-driven correction of others may cement that condition regardless of slant.

Couldn't it simply be a person who is false and pretensious? Or a person who misleads you in some way- plays games.

"... I always wondered why he chose the mantle, "black brothers" and not just "black brothers and sisters". Seems a bit sexist"

When Crowley coined the term, sexism had not yet been invented.

No -- it means a specific thing, a person at a specific point on the Path who fails the ordeal present there.

That's almost always the case. Intentional frauds are just common frauds, generally; they don't get to the point of being black brothers, because to get to that point you have to have actually tried.
Black brothers are garbage, but because they're garbage to themselves on the inside; on the surface level (the face of it, the "facade") they are desperate to convince themselves and others that their position of rejecting the need to change is somehow noble.
