The "Imagining the tenth dimension" website has an interesting method of visualizing 10 dimensions which begins with a point of indeterminate size and wraps it up nicely with all possible points, lines, and timelines philosophically accounted for in the tenth. The prior akin to our hadit and the latter our nuit. Worth a look in my opinion.

Thanks guys. Your comments have helped. From the wide variety of opinions people have about the ego/Ruach, it is sometimes difficult to sort out what exactly they are talking about. When one person exalts it and another person demonizes it, can seem like the two people are talking about entirely different things though using the same terms. It seems that my investigation of this matter is similar to trying to learn about a person by only studying hir when se's ill.

Admittedly, I find illnesses fascinating and they can make great stories... 🍸

Reading 'I Am' posts on occultforums.com I understood that it is possible to evoke/invoke goetic daemons like sigils i.e. it works with concentration on their sigils. So be careful not to overconcentrate on them.

I have come to consider the same thing and Fr. I-ness, in that Thelema was not intended to be an accurate transmission of AE religion, but utilizes the key points from that art within itself.

That aside, I've also come to understand that the "khabs" and the "khu" are not to be taken within the AE sense, but more within the greater body of Crowley's writing.

Given that we in the post-nuclear age have little problem with a dualistic universe, I think that those around the turn of the previous century had significantly greater intellectual resistance to two things being equal-yet-opposite at the same time.

I've come to term it this way:
"The khu in the khabs or the khabs in the khu: it matters little beyond what you will to do!"

The way you perceive the relationship is directly related to the design of your creation. Crowley did not so much "refute" GD doctrine as he added an additional level of understanding of the operations of hermetic systems within the overall GD perspective. This, of course, was not his perspective on the matter; it is mine through the benefit of hindsight.

Truth be told, I believe that much of the modern Western mystery schools have missed (or perhaps "ignored") the past 100 years of advancements in both the temporal and mystic sciences.

i'm fortunate enough to live in his neighborhood, and as i also have the honor of being a member of (S)OTO i get to see him fairly regularly. let me tell ya something: the rumors Ain't True. some of the things i read online about him are enough to curl anybody's hair - yeah, he's hardcore. yeah, he's on the pillar of severity. no, he's not a loon nor is he a charlatan. gawds... just grab a copy of his "gold coins" from thelema publishing outlet (you can get there from <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.castletower.org">www.castletower.org</a><!-- w -->) and do his sacred ritual of the bull sacrifice a few times if you've got any doubts in THAT direction!

as for convenience... initiation is many things; convenience isn't one of them.

i don't know that much about the lineage that jim here represents, but i do know, just from being on the board here, that jim is a dedicated and sincere themelite who is indeed manifesting supreme the wisdom of the work in his own particular way.

i know quite a bit about the "lineage" that's associated with the caliphate O.T.O., not the least of which is that they don't tend to respond to inquiries. as i understand it (and do correct me if i'm mistaken) their current head honcho is one william breze, who was thrown out of motta's (my) lineage for not bothering with his oath and task over a course of eight years. one thing i do know: you can't just sign up with another lineage - once you're out, you're Out.

i don't represent motta's lineage through frater sphinx by any stretch of the imagination; my attitudes aren't necessarily his attitudes (or those of anybody else in our lineage - shit, there's thousands of us!) and so on, but i -=am=- one example of someone who comes from and dwells within that particular school of thought, for whatever that's worth.
