Have any attempts ever been made to claim it as a religious artifact or some such thing and thus belonging rightly to Thelema and not the Egyptian dept. of Antiquities (although they do a lot of good)

I physically visit as much as is possible. Sending cards etc unfortunately is not allowed because thy "could contain drugs". As she holds the position of Scarlet Woman, she is a Thelemite and knows that if I visit at night or what have you, or send her protective light and safety, she knows to accept it, know it's real. but not to mention it to the group at large. As I said, she did astrally visit me while I was in the same situation, and I knew it was real but never mentioned it to anyone else. She's wise enough not to do so either. I dont work with fingernail cuttings, herbs etc, I consider that wiccan stuff, and while it may work, it doesnt for me. I work with energy, ceremony and so forth. Any further advice would be great.

My SW is going into detox and then rehab for her heroin issues. When I went she astrally visited my almost nightly. Now, I'm the sober one and she needs to be able to call on me, and if not actually get visited, feel my love and energy around her. Any thoughts?

Someone loans me a large sum of money. While i am not home, my roommate steals half of it. I wake to three angry people ready to fuck me up for their missing half sum. My asshole roommate took it-but these guys (heavy duty coke dealers) dont listen to reason. Rituals to do, or should i just physically kill/injure them, or the roommate as they are interfering with my Will, which is to experience everything and enoy this life.

I have just found a new girlfriend, and tonight will be our fourth or fifth night in bed. She is not a Thelemite or a practitioner of any kind of Magick or witchcraft, but she has definitely expressed a lot of interest in working with me in Sex Magick. We have done banishing and protection rituals together, she has done Will with me before meals and we have meditated together extensively (we were friends for years before we got together). So, she is definitely very open to Magick, or at least helping me practice Magick. Plus, she is VERY openminded in the bedroom......sigh......

Ok, sorry, I'm a bit distracted.........
My question is this: Can anyone reccommend a simple Sex Magick ritual we could perform tonight? I ask as she has expressed a lot of unprompted interest in Sex Magick, and has been repeatedly indicating that she wishes to explore further tonight. Just something fairly simple. Thank you all in advance.

Jim.........I have been fully physically and psychologically examined, no problems. I have abstained from all ritual/magick related things except for meditation for 2 weeks. I have also abstained from all drugs save opiates (legit Rx) and marijuana for over 2 weeks. I have had no further problems. Thank you. When do you feel it is safe to reincorporate these aspects of my life (knowing never to attempt blending them again)?

When I say "It's not a Thelemic thing", i mean that i don't consider animal sacrifice to be necessary in MY interpretation of Thelema. It may very well be a part of yours, and I have no problem with that, although animal blood is denounced as the lowest quality blood to use in Liber AL

I use my own blood, and the blood of willing human ritual participants (of course in this era everyone uses their own knife or razor and blood is not intermingled until it is out of the bodies. Unfortunately I have never had a Scarlet Woman. I have had Witch/Wiccan etc girlfriends that were willing to do sex magick with me, but i have not found my true S.W. It's hard enough for a man to find any quality woman these days, and when you add the qualifier that "well, honey, I may sometimes need to spread and/or consume your menstrual blood as a part of my religion, which 99% of people worldwide have never even heard of", it gets very difficult.

Thank you Jim for the very good advice. Yes, i was poorly trained in the beginning, as i started practicing at age 13/14 or so, and being in a very strict Christian household i couldn't exactly share my beliefs with my family, and if i did, i certainly wouldnt be allowed to pursue outside help. Beyond turning 18 i erroneously thought i had a grip on things, and thought i did not need any teaching other than what i taught myself.

I tried to get into organized wiccan groups but found it didn't really fit me. Now that I have found Thelema i plan to get involved with a local OTO group that I just located recently, thanks to pm help from another heruraha member. I also hope to join A'A', and possibly look into freemasonry as well, for a historical perspective on secret societies/mystery schools, even though it's not Thelemic, my father is a Mason as was his father, and i would like to join that as well.

I will say in my defense that i did self-teach quite well for a 14 year old.
Of course i began to mistakenly believe that drugs/psychedelics could help with occult work, and thats where the train started to derail.
While i still love my psychedelics and occasionally other things, I now know that they are not to be mixed with ritual, study or Writing.
I will follow your advice (i have already had an extensive physical and psychological examination and there is no "normal" cause.)
I'm going to fully abstain from all magick and ritual for a few weeks and "retrain" myself in the manner you described. Also will abstain from all mind altering substances save for those that are truly medically necessary.

Long before finding Thelema I was practicing Ceremonial and Chaos magick, as well as meditation and astral travel. This is important only as background information, but.......
In any case, lately I have found myself drifting into the astral FAR to easily, often without really trying. This can be a nice distraction, a mystical experience, or a bloody disaster depending on my setting. Today I found myself starting to drift while driving. I had not done any ritual or meditation that day, nor was I intoxicated in any way or any of the standard explanations. Practical advice on getting this back into control? I've thought about attempting some sort of ritual, but there isn't a set guideline that I'm aware of, and I wouldn't want to banish the ability completely.
Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you.

I meditate twice daily, usually once in the morning (if a scheduling conflict prevents it, I move it to mid-day or early afternoon), and once at night, before bed, either before or after sex (which usually involves Tantra/sex magick, but not always) and other pre-bed activities.
As for rituals, I do a basic Chaos/Ceremonial protection ritual for myself, my girlfriend and my adopted son every day, and other rituals when they are needed, such as my "simple banishing ritual" described in the Magick section, or astral travel, tarot, LBRP etc.
I should really get into the habit of more regular ritual.
Oh, and I also do a basic witchcraft-based protection/consecration of my home at least twice a week.
I attempt shamanic ritual, usually of a healing nature, with or without the assistance of "teacher plants" or "god's flesh" (mescaline or mushrooms) when i feel that healing is needed, and to "check in" with that plane of existence.

Well, it's the Native American/Shamanistic concept of Earth, Air, Fire and Water. In this ritual i find it unnecessary to invoke spirits by name, giving thanks to the elements and the four winds is plenty.

I created this ritual (please keep in mind I am new to Thelema and come from 15 years of study in Buddhism, shamanism, witchcraft and chaos magick, so my work is colored by all my magickal influences).
Essentially this is a Chaos ritual as it does not follow any one tradition, but it has been working, when relatively minor problems are concerned. For example, a fellow magician (non-Thelemite) broke his 3 pack a day smoking habit using this ritual. I have used it to send an annoying querent to seek his answers elsewhere, and to repel an ex-suitor of my current girlfriend who until recently was not taking no for an answer.

I just figured I would share it here, for what it's worth. It's a great ritual for neophytes as no Quabalah is required, no invoking of entities etc.

You will need:
A symbol of the thing/habit/person to be banished that can be ripped apart and burned. Examples include a cigarette, a small amount of a drug you wish to quit, a picture of the person in question, or a paper with the person's name or description of the problem written on it. If writing names I have found it helps to include their numerological equivalent, but it is not necessary.

A candle (and obviously something to light it with, preferably a match)

Your wand or sword

An outdoor area in which to work, or an indoor area in which a small fire is safe.

Loose fitting, comfortable robes or clothes, or nudity. The key is comfort to avoid distraction.

TO BEGIN:

Clear your mind of all concerns except the one you aim to banish. It helps to spend a good 20-30 minutes sitting in meditation, spending the first 10 minutes or so meditating on the problem at hand, then the rest of the time, on clearing the mind in the typical Zen fashion.
Approach the area where you will do your work carrying your wand or sword in your dominant hand, the symbol to be destroyed in your left. Draw a circle in front of you, containing the seven pointed star, and step into it. Place your candle on the ground in front of you and light it.
Turn to each of the four directions and consecrate your weapon and candle to the elements and spirits of the four winds, using whatever words you feel are best.
Take the symbol to be destroyed into both hands.
Rend! Destroy! Tear! Ruin! Shred!..........until unrecognizable, then light it afire with your candle.
Remain standing silently in the circle until the object is burned away.
Turn again to the four directions and thank them wordlessly, a simple bow or gesture works here.
Now leave your circle and erase it (NOT with your wand or sword), for the work is done.

It may be repeated as many times as necessary, but I have found it usually works the first time, provided the issue is minor enough. It would not be recommended for fighting, say, an infection with a serious disease, or a severe heroin addiction. Also not recommended for banishing formidable human opponenents such as a prosecutor in a court case, or an enemy that is capable of magickal/psychic defense and attack.

I would say that this would not work well if, say, of the three querents, 2 were relative strangers and one a close friend, biases of what the reader knows/does not know of the querent inevitably show through somewhat, even in the best of readers. I have never attempted a multi-person spread. If you want to try, perhaps try with 3 good friends and agree in advance that what you read may not be as accurate as an individual reading would be.
But, by all means try it out, perhaps it works well, and if so, i imagine many would be interested in your results.
