I always thought that it was an esoteric statement- stating that the infinite devine is within and not without. Stating that present day religions have it wrong. That god is within yourself.

There is of course much more detail. It says to seek Hadit and to behold the light/in finiteness of Nuit. Experience Nuit (sexual bliss)- unite the two.

To elaborate on my earlier comment:

Imagine you have no restrictions what-so-ever.
Draw out a floor plan for your Temple.
Decorate the walls.
Formulate a symbol, or key to act as the door.

Before your practices, take a moment to center thy self.
Visualize the entrance to your Temple, concentrating on the symbol.
Turn the key, enter...
Begin the Work!
Being sure to properly exist the Temple there after.

This question can also be applied to polytheist Gods. Some people take an approach that the Gods represent parts of the psyche. Hard-core polytheists are offended by this, they say their Gods are real and individual.

I can definitely relate to the this idea of needing to rebel, to break the chains, I definitely left home with a middle finger in the air.

I was raised Christian, used to drag my parents to church. Fast forward to present and my favorite shirt for the past year or two has a giant upside down cross on it. I know my attraction to the symbol is a giant eff you to the dogma that was holding me back, spiritually. (Even though its not even an evil symbol, the pope's got a upside down cross or St. Peters cross on his funny hat ) 😄

Thank you so much. I feel more drawn to the T.O.T. as it is the method I am most intersted in at this point.

However I have already contacted both the O.T.O. and T.O.T. in my city and will look into each. I will do some personal investigation, hopefulyl meet with some members, before making a final decision.
