Just to confirm, I believe the book is titled "Handbook to Higher Consciousness."
Thanks for the recommendation. I'll pick it up on amazon.

"Forget crossing the abyss, I'll settle for some authenticity in my life before I die. "
I couldn't agree more.
Thanks for the input guys.
I am not afraid, I was just curious as to the consensus here regarding this matter.
As far as the self, I am not referring to the ego, more along the lines of the "Buddhist Self."
They say you must learn to love one's self before you can love another truly.
Perhaps surely to you, but would you care to explain to those of us who are not so certain, your thesis?
What are your thoughts on adoration and love of one's HGA as a means of cultivating self-love?
A useful, or potentially dangerous practice?

"Gopi Krishna did not have proper mentoring and didn't know what to do with the results he was getting etc."
So where does one get 'proper mentoring' in this day and age? I've asked in the general forum and I haven't received any insight into the matter (I was hoping you'd stop by).
I think of it as mastery of the material. Learning to take pleasure in it but not covet it. If you constantly seek pleasure, it is your master in a way.
I don't have time to elaborate, just wanted to drop a quick thought though, my apologies.
I just picked up the New Translation, any thoughts on that Jim?
I think it may be important to realize that the author of this passage does not speak English as a native language.
May have some bearing on the way his words are coming across.
Eh, take it as you will, though.
I've always been of the opinion that science and religion are both means to the same end.
I'm not familiar at all with this technique, but it sounds very similar to certain cultures' shamanic practices.
Like "one-shot" talismans, or somesuch.
It is of note that the name Israel means "he who contends with the Divine."

Everyone stop a moment and think about what you're actually arguing about.
Youtube wasn't around back when I learned it.
Many people (the horror) still don't have internet access.
Just making a point.
I'd like to point out that these views are not my own (so no need to address me personally), but the views of a certain auther, as stated.
Just inciting a discussion is all.
Such a simple ritual, but for someone (like myself) who's never seen it performed, and only has a semi-vague text to go on, it can be all sorts of difficult.
The book that's proved most useful for me concerning the Qabalah is "A Practical Guide to Qabalistic Symbolism" by Gareth Knight.
Careful with the Qliphoth. I don't see any real need to study it or even be involved with it, but my scope is admittedly limited in that regard.
"As quantum physic evolves, researchers are discovering a universal truth behind all particles, called the string theory. This theory scientifically explains what is beyond every type of particle. We once thought that the atom was the smallest particle that existed, then we saw that the atom was made of even smaller particles, called protons, neutrons and electrons. We then saw that protons and neutrons where made out of small particles called quarks.
Depending on the orientation of quarks, it would make a proton or a neutron. We thought for a while that quarks where the smallest existing particle, but other types of particles where discovered, that did not even have mass, so small and without form. Up to 12 particles where discovered, and their anti-particle equivalents, called anti-matter.
The string theorists discovered that each of theses particle types where made out of an even fine and smaller thing; a single string of energy vibrating like the strings on a violin. A string can vibrate in many ways, and each way produces a type of particle that will then form matter, atoms, molecules, etc…
The reason for our interest in the string theory of quantum physic is because of its spiritual compatibility. The string theory proves that matter in every way is made out of a vibration of un-created energy. This energy is the origin of everything in the known universe, and it is not physical. Physical matter is only a vibration of energy that keeps its position in space because it is “remembering” its pattern of vibration (this is a metaphor, of course). Physical matter is not solid, as we once thought. The Buddhist knew that matter does not really exist, that it is made out of energy, originated from spirit. The kabalists explain the universe as a vibration of the name of God.
There is another interesting fact is that quantum mechanics. The string theory explained that the universe does not only comprise three dimensions, but ten. Three that are physical, our physical world, one time-dimension, and 6 other dimensions bent in each particle. There is a kabalistic rule that the universe is made out of 10 spheres of existence, that the dimensions are ten, no more, no less. For thousands of years, since Abraham and Moses, the quantum physic of the mystics is based of what today’s scientist know as the string theory."

Discuss.
It is my opinion that it is better to use no weapons at all than it is to used borrowed or bought ones.
In a pinch, just about anything can be used as a wand, for example, as long as the purpose you have given it is its only purpose and you do not profane it (eg. a cane ceases to be a cane and should ONLY be used as a wand from thence forth).
Aha!
Ok, great, that helps.
Turns out I've been doing it correctly all along then, except I was vibrating during the drawing of my pentagrams, not after. I am eager to try the correct way now.
Thanks for the insight as always.
