    93,

In the thread on Elaine Pagels and Satan, JAE wrote:

Literally and actually, at the Briatic level I am, myself, exactly as real as a myth.

Now, this is a hard question to frame, and probably tougher to answer, since it goes back to this whole "What is reality?" issue. To put it in personal terms, I have always assumed that the essence of the loquacious energy field consensually referred to as 'Me' stems from a constant energy pulse or flow out of Atziluth. In B'riah, that energy formulates itself into a pattern or, to use JAE's word, myth.

But as I read the quote above, there's an implication that 'past' B'riah, there is just undifferentiated energy. I have always more or less assumed that the HGA is Atziluthic, and is to thus to some extent differentiated from the Universal Mind of the Ain Soph. And, as a corollary, any being has a distinct, or at least embryonically individual, source in Atziluth.
With apologies for the polysyllables here, any comments on this?

    Edward
