Then how do you know? I'm just curious. Like my words, especially my words, it all operates through concepts emanating from that "crown of the intellect," which can only extend to the mark of its own limitation. That's pretty funny.

He also has another book, A Story Waiting to Pierce You, which links up the early Greeks with Mongolia, via an emissary who travelled all the way from Mongolia to Greece to deliver an arrow to the Greeks. I kid you not 😄

The idea is that there's a back-link to the great Asian schools (because of course the Mongolian stuff is basically the same kind of "shamanism" that eventually later becomes Tantrism throughout Asia).

This is sort of reminiscent of the Black/Yellow/White school idea (also perhaps some of Blavatsky's ruminations). Perhaps they were all more interlinked prior to Christianity (with the equivalent in the East being, I think, the co-opting of some of the Eastern schools by their own political shenanigans), and it's only recently that we've all "joined hands" again, as it were.

Kingsley's a fascinating, powerful and (I would say, but what do I know) quite Thelemically respectable mystic. It's like the type of idea at the beginning of LXV, where you can acknowledge other great schools of thought, wave to them, as it were, even if you don't actually subscribe to their methodologies (although the methodology Kingsley outlines from Parmenides is basically good old Mindfulness, which Kingsley believes was the original meaning of "Common Sense", nous, which I think all genuine schools everywhere share, and have somewhere in their curriculum - the equivalent in Tibetan, for example would be Rigpa).

I thought it was good as a Hollywood movie, but also a very dystopian and depressing vision of our future. The suggestion that we are not meant to save the planet, we are meant to leave it, and basically suggesting that wiping out every other species on the planet through environmental catastrophe is an integral part of our evolution certainly fits with the Neoliberal kamikaze philosophy.

It seemed to present the coming evolution of man as a sentimental secular humanist trapped in a never-ending k-hole (that's what the tesseract looked like to me anyway).

I'm not sure if it was intended as a warning of the hell we are driving ourselves toward or propaganda from the Black Lodge to drive us all to consume more and hasten the coming environmental apocalypse.

This is such a great question - personally I believe the question is often more interesting than many of the answers. I've been fascinated by the discussions, and debate, around consciousness and who gets to define what consciousness is from a cultural perspective. The definition of consciousness actually is the 'final battle' of the paradigms. If 'consciousness' itself is to globally expand - then our institutionalized understanding of consciousness must also change. Who gets to define that is where the battle is now. Obviously, there are many different viewpoints - and here in the west, the assumptions of what consciousness actually is and how it is defined can actually influence very practical things in our lives such as health care, believe it or not.

Additionally, the answer to your question, from what ever POV it comes from, will change our understanding of the universe and even physics, just as much as our current assumptions of the universe and physics depend upon a brain that produces consciousness.

Jim's answer expresses the viewpoint of consciousness from the perennial perspective, which until the past 10 years, has not been considered an academic viewpoint - however that is changing. Panpsychism is now emerging as a mainstream academic idea and the materialistic models of consciousness as the brain are becoming increasingly less accepted for their explanatory power.

While I am personally in tune with Jim's answer, it still does not tell us what consciousness actually is, it just tells us what matter is. Consciousness itself may just be the ultimate mystery, it can never truly be 'known' in the sense that knowledge is known about matter. If this is true, thank god we have an eternity to explore it 😄

This continues to be subject to debate, and I think the debate is centered mostly in the fact that it is touching on a subject not expressible in the language of the question.

Y'chiydah is Hadit - that's the basic part. So it should be easy to answer that Hadit is the distinct point that distinguishes each being, the center of each Star (Khabs being the name of His house) - right? However, he is also the center that, at once, is everywhere... so... the one point that is at once all points is...?

You get the problem?

It's very easy to answer this one step below Y'chiydah, just as it's possible measure an infinite number of geographic longitudes once one is the smallest distance from the North Pole. But not at the pole.

This is a fabulous example of a Mystery.

Yes, elemental is used in magick exactly as it is in English in general - to indicate a component, a subset of a whole. Microcosms (e.g., humans_ are conceived as having all components, i.e., all elements within them.

One dictionary's definition of element:
"A component or constituent of a whole or one of the parts into which a whole may be resolved by analysis/"

And of elemental:
"Of the nature of an ultimate constituent; simple; uncompounded."

😆 😆 this is the question that only a very advanced alien life-form can answer - one that is able to oversee the minds of all the Thelemites of the world, and make such a conclusion on the subject that it's at the same time accurate for all of them as a whole and every one of them in particular 😄

Jokes aside, I don't think there's any such sort of "consensus" among Thelemites regarding this subject. It's a matter of individual opinion and experience.
My personal stance is: there is alien life 😀

The answer largely depends on your definitions of "alien" and "life".

To me, Humanity in the collective, our group "synergy" and specifically as it is in this particular place and time. Whereas Nuit is the collection of "selves" in all infinity throughout the universe, in all times, and Hadit is just the pure being, found in the self, but ultimately found in the discovery of the union with Nuit.

I often wonder if RHK is akin to the HGH for planetary collective consciousness. Curious to hear others thoughts on that.

From my perspective, this new collective energy emerges into history with the emergence of social media / internet and all the crap that has come along with it 😄
