I also think Ashcroftt Nowicki is brilliant, she has a series of recorded pathworkings which are amazing, while all the correspondences may not be strictly Thelemic she does an incredible job and one can tell she is working from true insight gained from experience. Listening to her guided pathworkings always completely takes me into the path and are always incredibly vivid. I have also used these as jumping off points, have stayed in the sphere or path and done my own wandering and had my own interactions. The imagery really seems to get into the blood and I can vividly remember each pathworkings experience without having to have actively studied it. It is truly like a memory of a lived experience

I don't take anything in the Holy Books literally. But then, I don't take physical reality literally, either. I think there might be value in trying to follow the specifications of VIII as closely as possible, this endeavor itself being a kind of ritual. Each detail poses a significant challenge. Also, if I knew the name of my own God and the rite that invokes Him, I wouldn't need Liber VIII.

It does have the ring of something tacked on by Crowley. Maybe this was just his obtuse way of saying that OV continued to wrestle with his mind and was learning to overcome it with concentration and silence.

Just a little point, related to this Carl Sagan extract that automatically reminds me what Jim said about the Neshamah as a sort of Tesseract in this threat. This is the video:

I started imagining that those “points of contact” between different dimensions that Sagan mentioned could possibly refer, in the Kaballah paradigm we were talking about, to that points in where our subjectivity could call such things as “destiny”, “karma”, and so on manifest in our lives, that points in where all in reality “fits” as perfect meaning , synchronicities (maybe this is not exactly the term) or whatever, or at least that is what it seems from our subjectivity or “rational mechanisms”. Just wondering, some impressions I had about this after seeing the video.

This is indeed a great little app. Thanks. 😀 The pro version ($1.99) will link to your geo-location to provide true sunrise, sunset and noontime, and allow you to customize alarms for each. Also, you actually CAN easily set an alarm for true midnight, simply by setting one up to ring 12 hours after true noon (or maybe 11:50 after, so you have a few minutes to prepare).

The last week actually, invoking in the morning and banishing in the evening in the Planetary days and hours is what I've been doing. I haven't run into any trouble yet, but maybe that just means I'm not any good yet.

Nor I, but I notice that all the business and bureaucracy of the Book of the Law is in the 3rd chapter -- instructions for printing and publishing the book, admonition to be businesslike, etc. For all the blood and swords and macho bluster, the god of chapter 3 seems almost pedantically Mercurial. My favorite example is vv 48-9: "Now this mystery of the letters is done, and I want to go on to the holier place. I am in a secret fourfold word ..." He promises that he's done with words, then goes right on talking about words! I note, perhaps irrelevantly, that Mercury and Mars were conjoined at the midheaven during the dictation of the book.
