Your use of the title A.'.A.'. ticks me off, and is total bull. How dare you use the title of my brotherhood that you have no right to? We labor constantly to spread the light to humanity and have a direct line from Crowley himself as well as connections in the third order. You attempt to cheapen our name with some internet- log- in-and I will go ahead and accept you?
If you want to be in the A.'.A.'. get off your tail and do the work like everyone else and stop being lazy.

Yeah I am just not sure. I have actually encountered schools of thought that say to avoid the archangels as well up to a certain point, but in the Thelemic systems you use them right away. But why do we make an exception for the archangels and not other forces/entities?

However, Jim, how is anyone below 5=6 to know their relationships to the Archangels and more than the Four Crown Princes?

I have never read the book before, it was just a thought using magickal theory. Ultimately the archangels and the four crown princes of hell are just aspects of the same energy. I have never used them for the LBRP before, but I think I might go do it right now to see how it goes.

Perhaps you should look at what exactly the ego is a bit closer, by studying ATU 1 and ATU 7. It is nothing less than a creation, a vehicle if you will, for the divine itself. And in fact, there is infinite room on the "higher plane" for the Bride of God.

First of all, I have myself used the sigils you speak of with success. Creating something of your own and then making it strange to the sight seems to be an effective method of getting results from the sigils. Whenever I look at the sigil I have created, it almost seems to take on a sentient essence. I have noticed spare felt the same way and would often draw faces and limbs etc on his sigils...perhaps we have this similarity due to the fact that I am also an artist.

Although sigil magick and other such usery (grey, result oriented, what have you) may be "neat", it is also, effective and helpful. Why throw away the proverbial favorite hammer in the tool box so you have to pound in the nails with your palm? A solid practitioner is well grounded in both mysticism and magick.

True Magick is a scientific process. Scientists read, study and learn the scientific method THEN we decide what we seek to discover. i.e. if I apply this chemical to this new compound with alot of heat can I possibly create a stronger alloy?
There is alot of dogma going on here. If you want to know wether Goetia (or any other magick) is good or bad, or even if it works or not, I suggest you try it when you feel compelled, and keep strong tight records of what happens so that you can experiment again and again and refine your process, as in all magick.
What is this talk of "Low purpose"? Keter is in malkuth my dears, lets not become Christianity now. tisk tisk. Remember the Goddess Loves you and wants you to have it all.
And one more thought....try not to apply the compound fear to your experimentation, I find that it always causes combustion

Could we perhaps have a discussion on how Thelema is different than the occult and mysticism predating it? I am just having a difficult time seeing a big difference, although much of the time Thelemites themselves seem very different than other people I meet on similar paths. I feel that the huge differences in personalities has more to do with Crowley and who is attracted to his teachings than Thelema itself.
