Correct. There is misandry as much as misogyny. Plus, men and women both have the (likely) potential of a vulnerable, pathological relationship to their instincts in addition to any more positive relationship.

The concept among the Q'lippoth is this: Malkuth is The Bride. Therefore, the demonic form of Malkuth is The Demon Bride.

Whether you call her Lilith or something else is a more open topic of discussion. I think the thing to get over is the idea that all metaphysical beings of the same name are the same being. Mikhael archangel of the Sun is neither Mikhael angel of Mercury nor Mikhael archangel of Fire (at least: not necessarily the same archangel, and clearly the angel and archangel are not the same being). Samael the Q'lippothic ruler in Hod is not the same Samael that is elsewhere an angel of wisdom and power.

So, the debate of, "Was Adam's legendary first wife Lilith a bitch or a just an enlightened modern woman that the patriarchy put in place" isn't necessarily the same discussion as, "So whatabout calling Lilith q'lippothic?" I suspect these questions of gotten concatenated here to something like, "Hey, should we go along with calling Adam's first wife (who probably was just a self-responsible babe) Q'lippothic?"

Many thanks for the thoughts. My cats provide me with more dead and dissected birds than I could ever want for, but I still think I will be opting to do without using blood and brains in my own work!
I've finished studying the book, and it was indeed a worthwhile exercise in identifying and extracting the good from the bad, and I've made notes on substituting Thelemic material for the Judeo-christian stuff (mainly in a shift of attitude - the prayers in the book are great examples of "I'm such an unworthy sinner" stance of these medieval grimoires). Once I get around to experimenting with practising them I'll probably post my notes here. Thanks again!

I just started today to read some of them and just noticed about this when reading "THE TRUMPS OF THOTH AND PSYCHOLOGY".

Those pdfs are an invaluable source of information, thank you Jim and Team.

These instructions were specifically sent to an O.T.O. lodge. I find it interesting, therefore, that the step he described is the (now deprecated) "first regular step" of the O.T.O. rituals before their conversation from Masonic Lodge stylization to the (I speak subtly) non-European stylization.

I think it's as simple as that. That exact step probably doesn't man anything to anyone anymore, and I don't think you should worry about it much. Unless you belong to an Order that has an alternative instruction, just take a short step for balance.

No attribution system is 100% accurate they are only general signposts. In my personal opinion someone who emphasis the symbol system in a Thomas Kuhn type quest for absolute truth through this; could be likened to hermanubis.

Perhaps only as a Gnana yoga type perspective is this useful.

Crowley said that rituals imply building up energy and feasts discharging energy but also implies periodic nourishment. In general, the ritual probably should invoke the proper Element (Fire for Spring, Water for Summer, Air for Autumn, Earth for Winter), and the feast should be a celebration. I imagine most rituals will also involve feasts. Here are some (unofficial) examples of Rituals of the Elements and one Feast for the Times:

Well that gives me a project - no bad thing!

The difference between the path which a planet is assigned to and the sphere which the same planet is assigned to is interesting. I was quite confused by this at first (when it comes to the question of if one wishes to invoke a planetary force using the Greater Hexagram ritual, do I invoke the path or the sepher), but my experience - and I think some of Jim's comments on here (though please correct me if I am mistaken) - indicates that the path is the particular energy itself, while the correspondent sepher is the field on which that energy acts. The difference between the two can be subtle but significant (similarly the king scale colour of the path is in some cases subtly but significantly different from that of the queen scale of the sphere). With this in mind, a look at the tree can be newly illuminating, e.g. the energy assigned to Mercury is the path which links Kether and Binah, yet the sphere on which it acts is that of Hod.

I've seen it, it's a viable alternative - and a clever interpretation of mounting the mirror as a triangle upright instead of tracing it on the floor.

Personally, the other approach works way better for me (but, then, I've never had a knack for skrying in crystal balls - can do better without them). Also, the smoke etc. technique actually allows for the bringing of a low-frequency Yetziratic being into physical form, whereas the mirror primarily allows a mental connection off of an image and your own psychological projections. For communication, they're potentially about the same value - butg for full training in magick, experience in materialization (drawing non-material beings into a temporary physical form) is a valuable skill (since you learn so much else from it).

In A.'.A.'., work in evocation begins as early as 1=10, but testing in it doesn't occur until 4=7 (as part of the Path of A'ayin for moving on toward Tiphereth). I've always felt that, in that particular context, the process of materialization was a significant part of what was being learned.

I have recently toyed around with the idea of public blogs of forums of people's ritual accounts.

It would not be a persons main journal - that in my opinion should be a hand written account.

By first writing it, a stream of consciousness style can be approached.
With some cleaning before posting.
It might be helpful to provide context.. say

The potential "hazards" are primarily based on the fact that you are leaving yourself wide open to whatever comes in. If you've elevated yourself in advance to the right level, then that isn't a problem usually.

The secondary problems are all of the issues addressed in the first two sections of Liber O - mis-evaluating the experience, etc.
